What state did you come from? Tennessee is more humid that other states, however there is a trade off in living in Tennessee. We are not a beacon of Culture, however we have the mountains, lakes, low cost of living, no state income tax, friendly people, mild winters.....I will trade the humidity for the other benefits...How about you?

I appreciate you opinion. For the working class, Morristown may not be as thriving as Knoxville, however, for those who which to retire and live on the lake, Morristown has a ton to offer.
The mexican population is 6%, sure. In America, it is becoming a problem in general. I am not sure I see a reversal of this any time soon.
Culture....sometimes you hav to look for it,but he Morristown Theater Guild is in its 74th year and the Rose Center offers cultural arts as well. Tennessee is what it is and it is what you make of it.
Now, if you like nice restaurants, you will be surprised by what yo find in Morristown in the next year. The liquor by the drink bill will come up this November again. It missed by only 104 votes 4 yrs ago. Now that the Industrial Park is built (3 yrs ago) and all the people that are moving into Morristown area, I am certain you will see a change.
I hope you have found a location that is more suitable to you and your family. My regards.

Swapping Enviorments can be a huge improvement -
8/23/2008I am speaking for my customer and sharing some of their oppion and reasoning for making the decision to move from NJ to Morristown, TN. In particular, this newley retired couple has choosen to live in a lake community (Cherokee Lake). They feel as though their quality of life will be greatly improved simply because their dollar with stretch so much further. They will be alble to go places, buy things, do more in TN then they ever could in NJ. "Everything cost less". Like many other retirees, the lack of state income tax is a huge draw as well. The other big change for most new residence can not be recorded statistically. More and more people comment about the hopitality of the Tennessee residence. There is just a different feeling one gets by moving to the volunteer state. I encourge everyone to experience it.
