The big snow country.... -
3/28/2009It is called the big snow country for a reason. It snows...a lot...and gets very chilly. The winters last a good 6-7 months. If you like to ski, ice fish, snowmobile, or any other winter sports/activities you might like it. The one problem is that there is nothing to do. We just got a Wal-Mart which is huge and the only place to get a decent pair of athletic shoes in the area is Dunham's. I have lived in the U.P. my whole life and love the outdoors, but I can only handle so much of that before I want to branch out and so some different recreational activities. The cost of living is decent, but like I say, you better be able to entertain yourself if you move into town. Overall not a bad place, but I am 25 and ready to move to a more exciting place.
