4/11/2008Not sure if you have made a move or not. But I lived in Chicago for 15 years. It is a great city to live in b/c you have access to restaurants, shopping, museums, culture, ...always something to do. However, it is bcoming costly to live there. I left for this reason. Someone else posted that in the city you experience a lot of resistance, which is true. I just found that nothing ever worked properly, or flowed correctly, in Chicago. There would always be an obstacle. It got to the point where I decided I had lived the majority of my youth there and had a great time!! But now it was time to move on, didn't see myself going to street fests in the summer until I was Fifty!! But I still love that city. So, I am assuming you could get alot of these same experience on the East Coast.

7/24/2007I have been in Minneapolis for well over a year. Don't like it.
People here are very surface. If you didn't grow up here, than locals treat you like an outsider. I can always tell if someone is from MN - typically will be nice but won't let you completely in, are sheltered (typically don't travel outside of MN too often b/c don't ya know MN is the center of the universe). If I hear 1 more time how superior the state is I will scream.
Time to get out......

4/10/2007I would also look at MLPS -St paul, much more diverse and more progressive and accepting of differences than I would say KC is.......

Good place to move if single?? -
4/10/2007I have an opportunity to move there? Just wondering if KC is a good place to move if single? I've heard mixed reviews, mostly negative. Want to get opinions from people who have lived there or are currently living there.
