Question for Portland Residents -
3/1/2012I was surprised to see that Portland, ME was just ranked one of the two best cities in the nation for eligible single women in the March 2012 Men's Health magazine. Is there any truth to that? I am in my late 30's and single and would like to know if there is a decent dating scene in Portland. Thanks.

2/7/2012Amanda, welcome to the new America! 20 years ago Phoenix was a laid-back, safe, clean city. Now it is L.A. in the desert! I am afraid that low class, ignorant people, pollution, crime and traffic are becoming the norm all over.

5/16/2011At first glance, I was tempted by the negative reviews of the Springs to skip it as a potential place to live. But when you have spent a lot of time in big cities like Phoenix, L.A. and Philadelphia, you tend to laugh at people that claim that medium sized cities like the Springs has bad traffic and crime. C'mon, give me a break! There has to be a reason why the Springs always gets voted as one of the Top 50 places to live in almost every survey every year.

How many rednecks defend Arizona as being an exceptional place to live when most of them are uncultured, untraveled, uneducated and unenlightened morons with big trucks, big guns, big spittoons and tiny brains! Every time I post something on AZ Central about Arizona being a rough and backward place to live, 20 rednecks scream at me to go home!

3/6/2011My God man, the sun has truly fried your brain! I lived in Philadelphia, Delaware, Washington, D.C. and Germany before coming here. I have also visited every major city in the U.S. at least 3 or 4 times. And Phoenix is, by far, the dumpiest, rudest, most polluted and most shallow city in America. L.A. and Detroit aren't too far behind, but Phoenix is the king of crap!

2/12/2011One of the best cities to live in? By who? In the well-respected "Place Rated Almanac", the entire Phoenix metro area was ranked #298 out of #320 cities for quality of life. You need to get out more often old timer! Stop hiding behind your iron gate and see what is really going on. For example, there have been 2, count them - 2 murders in the Chandler in the last week! And that is not the exception to the rule.
