Living in Cincinnati, OH (Hyde Park Neighborhood) -
4/7/2015Relocated to Cincinnati in 2014. Prior to the move, we used Sperlings Best Places web site to give us an overview of the city (crime, climate, etc) and what to expect with the "cost of living" which was very important to know. It was a great resource. Moved into the Hyde Park neighborhood, which has lovely historic homes. Numerous clubs, cultural events and awesome restaurants in the neighborhood. Close to downtown activities. Just a FYI: great diverse restaurant selection; not a strong ethnic diversity in neighborhood; we're not runners, but appears to be numerous avid daily runners; the cost of housing in Hyde Park is substantially more expensive, than other neighborhoods in Cincinnati. The downtown area appears to be refurbishing historic buildings and lofts, brownstones and new restaurants are every where, very cool. Washington Park downtown host numerous free exercise activities. If you're a beer lover, there are numerous breweries to visit. Some of the new downtown restaurants have a kinda' eclectic feel, also very cool. Professional & collegiate sport activities abound. Travel to Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY are a quick fun day trips or mini getaways. We like the Tri-State area (as the locals call it). Thanks Sperling's.
