Property Taxes -
11/13/2010Whitney is a very poor town but have a very nice school system. The reason their system is as good as it is, because of a gated committee named White Bluff. Very few people in White Bluff have children put pay large property taxes for the privilege of living in the Whitney school system. All I can say "thank goodness we have a vote in school bond elections"
Athens, TX
Traffic problems -
11/13/2010Athens is a beautiful east Texas town. It is clean and friendly, but no one gets in a hurry! The traffic light are terrible, you have to stop at every one. They have built a loop around the town and I recommend taking it to get through Athens. WE used to stop in Athens to buy supplies on a weekend at our farm just east of Athens but have started taking the loop. I don't think they want out of town business. We would say we have to do the "Athens shuffle" at the grocery stores.
