4/17/2010WEATHER, WARMTH. The problem with the hospitality in SO Florida is NOT Floridians...it's the imports from the NE. They are RUDE and Arrogant. There is NO REAL FL left unless you go inland and talk about a LACK of paying jobs.........wow, hence why the migants have to e hired. FL is NOT known for it's high paying jobs. You want high pay, go back to the NE or CA, FL should be relaxed and slower than the NE...it's changing, beginning to look like the NE and all it's rudeness...

4/17/2010Ft PIERCE HAS HIGH HIGH CRIME RATE!!!! On scale 1-10 with US average a 3...Ft Pierce is a 7!!! In both violent and property!!!

4/17/2010Get them involved in OUTDOOR activities, they don't always need amusement parks! How about CHARITIES? There are many who could use a kids group....the local shelter can use kids to walk dogs, pat cats...start a GROUPS of kids that do a different charity every weekend! Give them something to be PROUD of instead of the TV and constant entertainment! Hike, Bike, SWIM, let them take lifeguard courses.... HOW ABOUT teaching the kids to play GOLF? It's not all for old fogies...DO you think the pros' started at 60?? There is PLENTY to do....PSL has more than A LOT of the country! If you need amusement parks, go work for Disney and live there, you will soon be complaining then too! The grass is NOT always greener on the other side!

4/17/2010I too found the schools VERY lacking, BUT pay to teachers is not how you judge a school. WHen you find high paid teachers, you often find lousy teachers as theya re there for the BUCK. The lower paid teachers (like in private schools) are there because they CARE SOMETIMES...sometimes, I agree, it's because they couldn't get a job elsewhere...but there are POOR teachers EVERYWHERE, the problem is the UNIONS, you can't weed out the piss poor teachers from the good. We found the BUSING of kids in PSL very frustrating...they were to put my daughter in a school on hours bus ride away, when we lived near a great school within walking distance, becasue she was WHITE AND FEMALE! The only reason..to help EQUALIZE the race and gender gap in Ft Pierce!!! WRONG! I squawked and she was moved, but not all parents are that lucky! Jobs in FL are ALL poor paying jobs...it's just the way it is...same with the islands. I agree, taxes in PSL are getting out of hand and INSURANCE...but VERY little in the country compares to NY, CA and NJ states....they are an exception in EVERYTHING...so stay up North if you are looking for your high wages and stiff atmosphere. I wish PSL was more floridian...as that is what we wanted. Instead we find a bunch of Northern implants who want to change it all to their stuffy, rushed, go, go, go, atmosphere, THAT IS NOT FLORIDA!!! STAY home, if that's what you are looking for.

4/17/2010Afraid taxes will go through roof with all the foreclosures here...what will happen? No one knows, we hope it won't turn into another Ft Pierce crime ridden city....??
