| 4/16/2010 | parent | Burbank community day is a school for kids that have had behavioral problems, low grades, attendance issues or a mixture of the three. My son was sent to this school with a broken spirit. He no longer believed in himself and had given up. This school turned his life around. They helped him believe in himself again. He earned free snacks for doing jobs around the school. He had to be there early to put the flag up so he took the bus across town to make sure he was there on time. (Is this my kid really?)  Then they had a program were they had the kids work with the retirement home next door. The kids each had a senior buddy and they spent time together. My son actually cared what this lady from the holocaust had to say. He would come home and share stores that were exciting to him that she had endured. He was amazed that this little old lady had come thru all that. She would ck in with his grades and he would try to empress her. My son had taken his F s and changed them to A s and B s. Now he is in regular high school playing first string football. I will never be able to thank this school enough. |
| 3/5/2008 | student | With poor disciplinary actions and an outa hand student population, CDS is one of the worst schools I've attendent, but at no fault of the facultie. Its is to be expect that soo many students who honestly dont seam as if they care i believe that action should be taken to improve this school site. |
