9/7/2012parentI attended Macy as a child and so have two of my older children. We took advantage everything this school had to offer(music, sports, fun activities, academics). Macy has done a great job preparing us for both high school and college. Great staff!
5/6/2012otherYEE! this school is beast! its the best school ever, everything is just great about it! they have excellent teachers, strong principal, and challenging academic programs! its such a good school. i am currently and eighth grader there and it has prepared me for whats to come! GO MACY KNIGHTS!
12/24/2011otherWell, to be completely honest, this school did not prepare me for my future. I attended this school for four years and I am graduating senior this year and had no idea (in middle school) what I should have been preparing for after high school. The preparation in this school did not set me up for high school let alone college. Even though I enjoyed the friends and some teachers I've still keep in contact with, once I left and went to the high school I am attending now, I had no idea students my age had been preparing for college since they where in middle school. I felt like this schools academic's and especially artistic elements, disable the students from really learning and grasping on the importance of learning it now. At that age, I didn't care about my grades or test scores. "This is middle school, I don't have to worry about anything right now," is what I told myself. I really didn't find any teachers that shed some light on my actions or on anything regarding the importance of learning something right now! I guess what I'm really trying to say is that this school has little to no preparation for the future. And so I'm sorry to say, but I would not recommend this school.
8/23/2011parentI am very dissapointed with Macy school. If your child has disability and or struggling in school I would not send them to Macy. teachers are horrible ...................................................
2/23/2011other Macy Intermediate is an really great school. The teachers I had during my 3 years of education not only taught me the basic curriculum we were supposed to be taught, but also lessons about life. It was especially the teachings of my basics and PE teachers that would probably influence me the most. They were really great people who inspired me to do my best. The people at Macy in general, are wonderful people who care for others. Currently I'm finishing my 8th grade year, and I know that I would miss this school when I finally graduate . PS: MR HAYAMI ROCKS!!!
12/20/2009studentMacy Is an awesome school. the teachers are pretty cool...especially Mr. Hayami and Lee and Chew and Jordan...basically....very kool! :>
6/12/2009studentI'm attending Macy, I have been for 4 years, I'm graduating this year, and I have loved the experiences here, and will miss this school when I leave to Schurr High School
1/29/2008otherI attended macy. As with any school, some teachers were great and others, not so much. I was in the music program there and learned so much and also had tons of fun! One of my favorite classes there was Physical Education because they would actually make us to what we were supposed to be doing in P.E.
3/24/2006former studentGreat school small setting and most Teachers have great repore with students. I had a great experience there as a Jr.high student and now my children are having a great time. Great Avid program!
6/24/2005parentThe school is well organized and very active. Acadmically, it challenges the students and the teachers arepassionalte about their commitment to the students and Macy tradition.
5/1/2005studentIt's a great school. If your child works at a higher rate, there are gate classes and advanced math classes, I think it's a both fun and an educational way of learning. The Physical education program is great, they help you learn new sports and teach you how to be self disciplined in everything that you do. Also in the 8th grade there are certain requirements to fufill, like: a portfolio review of all of your achievements, a research paper(I like it because now I know how to do one when I go to high school, also teachers teach you step-by-step how to complete it). Also at the end of the year we have so many rewards, like: a trip to knott's, a bar-b que, an 8th grade dance, awards. In eigth grade we get an opportunity to go to Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C.
4/22/2004parentI thank Macy's teachers and principal for doing an outstanding job, on taking the time to meet the needs of my daughter. I can proudly go through the halls of UCLA, admiring the knowledge that my daughter has acquired in Macy intermediate school. Teaching is a gift of the heart. As a father I'm proud of the knowledge the students receive on campus. Keep up the good work. Thank you, for your concern.
12/2/2003parentI have had 3 children attend Macy and found resources for remediation are scarce at his school. They focus a lot on the schools image than meeting your child's needs. A teacher even told me she is overwhelmed with children in her class and could only give my son as much as two minutes of her time.
9/30/2003parentI am very please with Macy as a whole. I can see the committment and enthusiasm that both the principal and teachers have in educating our children. This is a very good quality for a school to posses.
