6/29/2012parentThe administration of prior has been removed for the NEW 2012-2013 school year. Facility is safe & excellent in location. Academics has always been good because of the blessed teachers. Very pleased. God is good.
10/24/2011otherI attended the school for 9-12th grade after attending public schools. The administration was weak, I had some very good teachers but I also had classes that were a complete joke, and if you didn't have musical talent there weren't many programs you could get into. I went before athletics were huge in the school, but from what I hear they haven't handled that well. You can put God's name in a classroom but when most of the teachers and students said one thing and acted another way it was hard to see much of Him while I was there. For the amount of money you pay to go there I think you could send your kids somewhere else and get a better outcome. I did feel most of the classes did well with integrating religion while still giving you other views and a good education.
6/20/2011parentWe have our 5th child graduating next year (2012) at Red Lion. It has been tremendous. God is doing a great and mighty work in the lives of the kids there. Our kids have been well prepared for college academically and spiritually. No school has perfect staff, teachers or students so there will be the occasional issues, but Red Lion is a learning organization continually striving to be all that God desires for them to be.
6/19/2011parentWe have three children at RLCA. Having moved to Delaware five years ago, we were looking for quality academics and a Christian education. We found it at RLCA. Our son graduated last year and was able to receive college credit for AP courses. Our daughters love their teachers and friends. RLCA is a great investment for our family.
6/4/2011parentBeing a parent of two children that attended this school in 2010-2011 I have to say that I am very disappointed, this school is all about finances and athletics. The more money your are willing to donate to the school the better off your child will be treated. Myself and oldest child saw special treatment towards athletes several times which is very unfair. I also don't think many of there teachers have had proper training, most of them are husband/wives and family/friends of each other. My daughter told me how the teachers would complain that they didn't make enough which is completely inappropriate. The class size is also very large 23-30 students and they don't seem to have a limit on the number of student's they will accept as they are to worried about they amount of finances coming in. I can however give the EEC 5 stars, the teachers are wonderful and very caring, unfortunately I want to keep my children together so I will be looking into a few of the other Christian schools/Academy's in the area.
3/29/2011parentWe have three children that attend Red Lion Christian Academy and they range from middle school to high school. We feel part of a family at the school. Teachers and students care about each other. They support us a family. We recenly attended Red Lion's Legacy Banquet at the Chase Convention Center and were so impressed with the commitment from the families who attend the school. The school is growing and has students attending from around the world. We enjoy the diversity that the student population offers. It is a unique school that puts God first!
1/9/2011otherI am a Senior at RLCA and have attended the school since 7th grade. RLCA has prepared me well for college through challenging Honors and AP courses. I have been accepted to the 5 colleges I applied to and will attend James Madison University. This year I have been involved in several service projects through my MInistry 101 class. We are reqired to serve 40 hours but many of us exceed that amount. My teachers have encouraged me all through high school.
12/27/2010parentRed Lion Christian Academy has been part of my family for the past 17 years with 3 children all starting in PreK, 1 graduating and 2 still in High School. Although very affordable for everything the school offers, the real benefit for our family comes from its core values - providing quality Christian education without compromise. RLCA has equipped our children with the Academic offerings necessary to succeed in higher education, blended with excellent programs in the Arts, and high caliber competition in Athletics. I am grateful for their commitment to excellence demonstrated in their investment in programs, people, and technology. RLCA offers the best investment I could make in the formidable years of my children.
12/27/2010parentThe school has changed for the worse. People are pulling their kids out left and right. Enrollment is down from about 950 to about 675. They have traded their core values in to become a football powerhouse. The school will mosty likely have to close in the next year or two. They will have neither a football powerhouse or a school. God will not reward these people. CHEATERS DON'T WIN! Be very suspicious of the positive reviews all posted on the same date (12-15-10). The school "leadership" is most likely posting them theirselves!!!
12/15/2010parentWe have graduated 4 kids from Red Lion and have had a great experience....our kids have grown spiritually, mentally and physically. Our priorities for education are: Christian Worldview, Great academics, Christian friends then athletics. Red Lion has excelled on each area. Our kids were well prepared for college academically and to withstand the spiritual onslaught of college.
12/15/2010parentRed Lion has been a tremendous blessing to our family. It continues to learn, grow and change which every dynamic organization needs to do. The ministry has been able to reach out to a wider community and some of the stories of the transformational changes in the kids lives is remarkable....God sized stories. Unfortunately some do not like this change, but if you are interested in a great environment for your kids, an expansive outreach to the community and a God blessed ministry, then RLCA is the place.....you need to visit and let God lead.
12/15/2010parentI have two children who attended and gratuated from Red Lion. The education they received was outstanding. The Christian world view which is evident in their lives is largely due to the influence and teaching of wonderful teachers and adminsistrators. Both of my children were highly prepared for college and both would say the education they received at Red Lion was the foundation that prepared them for success. I highly recomment Red Lion Christian Academy.
12/15/2010parentAwesome school. Thrilled to have my children enrolled in Red Lion. The teachers are caring. The students are excited. The Christian influence and integration all all facets is great.
12/15/2010otherGreat school. I recently retired as a teacher in public schools. I substitute at Red Lion. I am so impressed with both the students and teachers. I have substituted in the elementary, middle school, and high schools. Even as a substitute teacher I spend almost no time with discipline and am able to teach and have productive classes. It is always a pleasure to spend a day teaching at RLCA.
12/15/2010parentRed Lion has been a true blessing in all 3 of our children's lives. We have been at the school for 7 years and have children at all levels from Pre-K through High school. They have been involved in the sports, in drama productions, multiple athletic teams/activities and engaged in extra curricular academic activities as well (Math League, Science Olympiad, etc.) We chose RLCA because we wanted a school where our children would get an excellent education, have athletic opportunities, but most importantly, be taught from a Christian Worldview-where Christ is central. We wanted what we teach at home reinforced in the school. We feel our children have excelled and grown spiritually as well as academically and physically being a part of the school. As far as we are concerned, our money could not be better spent-investing in the lives of our kids at this critical point.
12/14/2010parentWe have three children at RLCA and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality of education, faculty and staff. The environment there is like a family. Our daughter is in elementary and our sons are in middle school and high school. Each is involved in fine arts and athletics. Our son in enrolled in AP Calculus B/C and AP Physics. He is looking forward to college at a competitive university.
11/22/2010parentWe have had children at RLCA since pre-K. Our oldest will be in 9th grade next year. RLCA has been a great school up until the last two years. It has now become all about football and is rapidly going downhill. I would not recommend this school. We will be removing our children from the school at the end of this school year. Do your research.
8/31/2010otherI am a student and Red Lion, I LOVE my school. I thankful that we can rely on GOD for grace, mercy, and restoration. Greater things are in store!
8/27/2010parentOur child attended Red Lion since Pre K, but will attend another school this year for 6th grade because we do not believe the school is what it use to be any longer. The Administration and Church Leadership have changed the school for the worse and have no remorse for what has happened to cause so many teachers and other students to leave as well.
5/31/2010parentWe have had our 3 children enrolled in the school the past 7 years. We love the school and are very thankful to God that our chilren attend a Christ-centered school that nurtures and challenges them to grow in their faith.
5/22/2010otherAs outside observers over the past 5 years, we have witnessed first hand the incredible ministry of RLCA. The faculty and staff not only seek to educate, but also to work hand in hand with parents to ensure their influence partners with parents goals for their children. We have seen God's principles exampled time and time again. We encourage you to visit!
4/13/2010parentBe afraid people, be very afraid. if you are looking for a christian education, forget it. this school only cares about building up the football team so they let ANYbody in there. the cussing in the hallways, the attitudes. go to public school and save your money
4/2/2010parentThe school has a good academic program compared to other public school in the area. My main concern is that there is no diversity at this school. We live in a global world our kids will have to compete in. I would like to see more diversity on the Board, in the teaching classrooms, and on the staff in general. The world is divers, Gods heaven is diverse. So the teaching and mind set of the leadership at this school needs to change. Then the student body will be ready for the 21st Century
10/22/2009studentI attended from k to 12 I had a good time only because of my friends. Ther are a select few of staff that are nice but the rest could care less. Not to mention their not even qualified. If ur looking for a Christian education I wouldn't recommend it. Iv always felt like it is so fake and come to find out so are many people who run it. I will say tho if you are looking for a clean and upkept facility red lion is your place, SO clean and beautiful.
3/10/2009studentI am an 8th grader at RLCA and I LOVE and CHERISH all three years I've attended here. The atmosphere is safe and friendly. The teachers are great and truly have a passion for Christ. The school provides honors, AP, and college prep classes so you are surrounded by students who are at your academic level. Chapel service is alot of fun too. We get speakers from all over including India and England. I have made long lasting friendships and truly grew in my realationship with Christ. Red Lion Chrsitian Academy is an awesome school and it is only getting better.
2/21/2009parentTwo of my children attend here with two more beginning soon. I am thrilled with the school as a whole. My oldest will be entering 12th grade and transfered in to start her junior year. It was the best decision we made for her. She is getting opportunities that she otherwise would never have had.
12/12/2008otherI once attended the school, and enjoyed my time there, but one I left, I was much happier. Some teachers are good, but others are hardly qualified. Some faculty were downright nasty, but others were very kind and helpful. Administration was weak however, with many issues going unresolved and undisciplined. Some student-teacher relationships were inappropriate, and downright wrong regardless of your religion. A decent school, but there are certainly better ones available that have much more to offer. Overall, I would recommend beginning there to gain an understanding, foothold, and sold foundation of Christian faith, but I would definitely suggest moving into the public school system around the 8th or 9th grade. I wasn't ecstatic about leaving at first, but quickly adjusted and loved the public school system even after knowing nothing but RLCA for 13 years.
11/17/2008parenti rate this school as a one because my child is learning alot here and he has made alot of new friends
10/4/2008studentred lion is a very good school to attend and this is my first year their and i am very blessed to be their
3/17/2008studenti've attended RLCA for two years i like it but sometimes it can get a little out of hand
2/11/2008parentWe are truley blessed to be able to have our children attend Red Lion. The teachers are wonderful and we love everything about the school.
2/9/2008parentRLCA is awesome, my child has attended there for 5 years now and she has always enjoyed going to school. She is always up and ready and looks forward to all the day has in store. I think the academics and teachers are great and the Christian aspect makes a noticable difference with all the children there. They are very polite and well behaved (most of the time : - )
2/5/2008parentMy daughter started at RLCA this year and I have been pleased with the education, teachers and administrators. My daughter started school as a very shy child but she has blossomed after only half a year at RLCA. The teachers are very caring to the students and are a great Christian influence.
6/28/2007studentI attended RLCA for ten years, and I feel that Red Lion gave me a great education and enforced the Christian values I learned at home. Plus, all the relationships I made there are priceless, and I wouldn't trade my time there for anything! This is a really good school and it's only getting better!
6/12/2006parentThis was my first year for my 2 children(in elementary) and I can say it was a very positive experience for us! My kids went to a much smaller christian school previously which in comparison was very lacking. The teachers show Christian character and care about the kids. I can see how the school operates as a ministry to children in all stages of their life directing them towards God, in a loving, not legalistic manner. My only regret to is find that some families that use the school do not practice their faith as they claim in their interviews. However, those types don't end up staying in the school long. Overall, I am happy though, and proud of the ministry of this school through RLEFC.
2/24/2006parentI think that this school an excellent school. My daughter goes there now and I am very pleased with the academic and spiritual aspect of the school.
7/20/2005parentWhile no school is perfect, RLCA has proven to have a true heart for Christ and a desire to educate children from a Christ centered perspective. Each of my children have been given the opportunity to explore their gifts and strengthen their weaknesses. The academics are strong, and the children are the focus, which is as it should be!
4/21/2005parentWe have 2 daughters enrolled and another starting next year. The education and Godly atmosphere are a real encouragement. The students can always receive help in every class-they are taught to take the initiative to get that help. The staff is also available to be there for good christian advice when sometimes parents are not. The students are encouraged to participate in plays, musicals, sports, bible studies as well as the other typical events in a secular school but with a positive Christian twist. As far as parent involvement-you can be as involved as you want to be-they can always use the extra help, and it will bring you closer to your kids and their friends also. The friends they'll make here will last a lifetime and the education they receive here is priceless. And financially, still one of the least expensive without sacrificing quality and extra activities.
1/11/2005parentWe have two children in this school and have had a wonderful experience. The administration and the teachers truly put the students' best interest first, academically and spiritually. Godly men and women who first and foremost follow the Lord's lead for the school have made this an exceptional place for our children. Parents are shown appreciation from the staff and are, therefore, happy to get involved in school activities. Owning and operating their own school buses is also great plus, since the bus drivers are known to the students, and take great care to insure the safety of the students. Arts programs (music, drama etc.), sports, and other extracurricular activities are varied and encourage teamwork and Godly principals in sportsmanship etc.
12/26/2004parentThe education in this school was poor. All the school really focused on was their sports teams. There were only a handful of teachers in the upper school that actually helped out the students if they needed help. You would think in a somewhat small school they would want parental involment, but everytime I would walk into the office they would basicly say to you what are you here for. So I didn't get to involed in the school at all. The only part of the school that was outstanding was their music department.
7/19/2004parentMy daughter has attended since 2001 and we are very happy with her education. She has had loving teachers who see her as an individual and treat her education as such. The curriculium is God centered and challenging and the class size allows the teacher to know each child. Communication between home and school has always been exceptional and our daughter's best interest has always been put first. If you are looking for a truly Christian school that is putting God first I can tell you that the Elementary school is definately doing that. We appreciate the emphasize placed on prayer in the classroom and in both the biblical curriculium and the traditional and that RLCA combines them in a safe loving setting. Summer camp is great also !
8/10/2003parentI wish creation based textbooks were used in the upper school, especially since I am paying for the term 'Christian' Academy. Parents paying for students of RLCA have expressed a deep desire for creation based textbooks, but are being ignored! Students need more discipline at home, school can not do it all! All the teachers love the Lord!
