4/5/2012otherThis school is STUPENDOUS! My name`s Dana Co, and my younger brother and I go there. I like it because the teachers are smart and nice, and the students are really nice, too.
6/13/2011parentExcellent teachers, challenging curriculum, and a safe, friendly environment make this a wonderful choice for middle school. Not a lot of bullying or social problems. This school does a great job of preparing students for the challenges of high school
4/18/2010parentMy two children attended the Frankfort schools and both did well in them and have done well in college. Outstanding teachers made all of the difference!!!!
2/22/2009studentI have no idea who the idealist writing some of these comments is, but they haven't seen this school on the inside. We have become desensitized to the constant surveillance, and the platitudes they constantly stuff down our throats. They try to tell us that there is a right way to think with their 'Character Counts' program. Very few students actually give a crap about this stuff, and in general, we tune it out. Not to say that their isn't good stuff going on in this school: student-teacher relations are, I have found, excellent. But I have met several teachers, not just students, who have expressed frustration at the general atmosphere present and leadership in this institution-like place of learning. That is not the kind of thing you want, disrupting communication from the teachers to the principal. Major problems going on here.
11/19/2008studentI am in hickory creek and am a 7th grader right now and i happen to LOVE this school, i think it is so much fun like with the pep rallys and cool fundraisers along with some of the coolest teachers ever imagined like mr. Smit( a.k.a Smitty) my tech teacher, is so cool i am writing this letter in tech class right now with my free time because i saw somebody posted someting bad about this school and thought it wasvery incorrect. well yes there are cameras but they have thhem so students, parents and teachers alike can have a sense of security. GO HCMS TIGERS!
2/22/2008studentThis school is awful. The atmosphere inside makes you feel like you are in a jail cell. There are cameras everywhere and it freaks everyone out. We hardly ever do anything fun. Do not move to Frankfort!
2/3/2008studentI love the atmosphere here. I feel like it's the best learning enviroment I could have. The teachers are awesome, the activities and after school programs are complely fun!
6/14/2007studentI have gone to Hickory Creek for two years now. So far I have enjoyed the extra-cirrucular activites that they have. To name some: band, basketball, choir, stage crew, volleyball, baseball, mathletes, and the musical production. Encore, which consists of P.E., health, music, technology, art, and foreign language, is very fun and extremely informing. The staff at this amazing school have many great qualities. The teachers are basically your friends here. Nearly every student in H.C.M.S. isn't afraid to ask their teach for help. The teachers also have a way of weaving the information into a fun game. They also use current events as examples which keeps kids informed about whats happening in the world today. When we talk about current events many debates occur. Ninety-nine percent of the time the teachers are splendid with our little arguments about what's happening. This school's amazing! There are many more qualities!
10/25/2006parentI think this school has a great quality of academic programs. Ever since my child has started at this school she has told me so much about how she loves music and gym.She even tried out for the cheerleading team and made it! I am happy that i can be involved in such great academic and extracurricula activities.!
5/4/2006parentThis school earns high scores in academics! My daughter has had the opportunity to take classes that are not offered at many other middle schools. It has a wonderful music program and offers many extracurricular activites. There is a bulling program and an advisory class that helps them to learn and cope with problems related to their age.
7/1/2005parentWe the parents are really concerned with the society that they are trying to build with our children at this school! We are not raising soldiers, we are raising children and we need to start treating our children like children. This school is absolutely out of control their power and lack of responsibility. As far as I am concerned most of the children is Frankfort are being deprived of a normal education. Your children are suppose to look back on their childhood school years and smile or laugh and wish to be a child again, not sigh with relief and thank god it s over.
5/25/2005parentBoth of our children have recently graduated from the schools here in Frnakfort. We feel they were provided a great education and offered many opportunities to learn and grow. While some teachers are certainly better at explaining concepts better than others, on the whole it was a very positive experience. Parent participation is like nothing we've ever seen before!
3/30/2005former studentI loved my time at Hickory Creek and feel that it well prepared me for high school. I found that students from Hickory Creek performed better in high school than other students who came from the neighboring communities. I am grateful for the education I was given.
10/19/2004parentWe are new to the area, our children have attended private school in the past. Professional teaching staff for my sixth grader, enthusiasm and boundless energy is impressive. Feasible guidelines from teachers keep us updated as to expected outcomes. Communication between school and home is solid. Kudos to the math, science and history teachers...our child enjoys those subject areas again.
8/26/2003parentHigh level of parent involvement enables strong extracurricular activities. No discipline problems at school.
