7/14/2011parentMy daughter attended this school for five years. She was highly motivated by the excellent faculty members. She participated in the after school sports program and enjoyed every minute of it. She is going to high school next year - well prepared for shat is ahead. I thank the principal and all of the teachers for making St. Rita a family.
6/2/2011parentMy son attended this school for kindergarten and first grade. I should have pulled him in K however school options are pretty limited in New Orleans. This 2010-2011 year was an absolute nightmare. The teacher my son had did not effectively communicate with me regarding his performance. The principal is disconnected and uncaring. My son was to receive speech therapy, we completed the required paperwork and the principal totally dropped the ball without a valid explanation. The list can go on and on. In my opinion the staff is not adequately trained to educate children. There is a high staff turnover and student registration continues to decline. The current staff consists primarily of elderly nuns and former public school teachers. At every meeting the principal is asking parents to refer neighbors to the school but she makes no real effort to make the curriculum/school better. If you value your child's education you may do better by looking elsewhere.
7/2/2009parentMy grandson attend St. Rita. I think the school is a wonderful learning institution. I found his teacher worked diligently with him, and the different programs they offered to help him with skills he was lacking. Sister Annette is a great principal who knows the children by name.
4/9/2008parentMy twins attended St. Rita for 2 1/2 years. The middle school teachers really care about their students and make the learning fun. The students are engaged in activities that they enjoy. The principal does an excellent job of operating the school. I would recommend that parents visit St. Rita - New Orleans and see for themselves. They will be pleasantly surprised! S. Russell

6/7/2007parentMy daughter went to st Rita in pre-k I did not like the school at all. The teachers did more yelling than teaching. The Principal all she did was yell. My daughter really did not learn anything at that school. The older kids would use profanity. The school is out of control.
