3/27/2012parentits a great school that i like for my son. its not like the other schools
2/13/2012parentThis is by far the worst school (district) I have ever experience. My child attended the school for half a school year. During my child's time there we had some terrible experiences along with dropping grades. I decided to move just to get him to a different school and a more diverse and positive environment. It is the best thing I could have done for my child. When I went to withdraw my child it was evident that the children definitely run the school. They were running and yelling in the halls uncontrollably, disrespecting the staff, using vulgar language all while being chased to class by the security guards. Fights are a daily event. Half of the teachers didn't attempt to correct the behavior and ignored what was going on around them. The office staff is THE WORST! They never give messages or return phone calls and I have left over 20 messages and received 2 return phone calls. The principal, although she is very nice individual, wears very skin tight outfits which in my opinion are not appropriate for school. All of my child's teachers were very helpful and I appreciate them, but the children could not be tamed. It's a tough school and they need some stern guidance.
1/6/2012parentThis school should have their IB charter revoked! The teaching staff is lacking, the curriculum is lacking of any IB program and a revolving door of staff that could care less because in a few weeks they will be at another school filling in. Your child's safety might be at risk by going to this school. I DO NOT recommend sending your child here.
3/30/2011otherI'm in the 8th grade at Ranson and Ranson isn't that bad. The school has actually grown a lot and is better than what some of the parents on here are sayin. Yeah we got drama, but who doesn't ??? And this "bullying: yall talkiin bout isn't from the 8th grade. We never even see other grades except for on the bus !
3/23/2011otheryes i go to this school and i actually like it because i can relate tew it. yes there is alot of drama and all the adults argue with the students and act lyke dey dont car at all. bhut ayee me and mi bestie runin disx. class of 2011 8th grade all dayy
2/26/2011otheri am currently a student at RMS their has been over 1million things said wrong about it. Most things are true others im not so sure of, i've been at ranson for 3yr. know and i can say it has changed dramasticly. From being punished to uniforms, its all for our good. Most kids exaggerate about what goes on here, most teachers are jjust doing their job and changin their attitude for the better, however the students dont very much like it so they think its being hated by the teacher. Thus making them hate the teacher, we 8th graders are now on lock down and we have almost all the staff on our case (in including the principal) so we dont really have direct contact with other grades or students for that matter. But its a punishment where gonna have to take to make the future of ranson a whole lot better.
1/1/2011parentThis school is terrible in every single way my daughter has struggled through her 6th and 1/2 of her 7th grade year already. Teachers that are potentially good end up angered and a lot less patent with students because of the students behavior. even grade a teacher would be sent into anger from these kids and the ones who ardent doing it are suffering adding uniform was a terrible idea just one more thing for students to hate the school for and when students hate the school they degrade and disrespect it but switching schools is nearly impossible with out moving!
11/2/2010teacherWith what happen to my grandchild there on Nov. 1, 2010 you do not deserve a rating. It's not low enough. My grandchild was missing all day and you just notified the parent at 4:30pm. Suppose it was your child.
9/15/2010parentMy child is afraid to go to school. I am removing her as soon as possible. The children loud and rowdy. They are very intimidating to the younger children. The girls are inappropriately dressed. The administration does nothing about the behavior that occurs in front of them. They promise the 6th graders never interact with the 8th graders, that's a lie! There are boarded up windows and grafitti. Im am so done with Ranson. CMS should close the doors.
8/24/2010parentI had a child at this school she was contstantly getting bullied and getting this stolen from her which is a huge problem at this school . I reported it admin. does nothing. the principal walks around ignoring the problems hoping they go away. My kid finially stood up to her one of her bullies ,got into a fight because my child was fed up at this point . the teachers should not be called teachers if you want your child to get a free ride and no education send them to ranson middle. I say everyone that has a problem here needs to report Ranson to CMS. because trust me if you child does something they put it in a file that will follow them the rest of their school years. worst school ever i had to removemy child from this place
6/12/2010parentI will be taking my daughter out of this school ASAP. The teachers do not encourage parent involvement at all!! Horrible leadership. No one returns call or emails.
4/21/2009parentIt is home to many fights and students are boisterous and obnoxious. I would not recommend this school for any parent to send their child.
12/10/2008otherHas average amount of drama but is very good academically speaking, Ranson is on its A game this is not a bad school and the students and staff are so polite.
12/5/2008otherI attended Ranson for 3 years and I absolutely loved the school!!! I was so sad when I had to leave because I had really grown to love it. It is wonderful and most of the teachers are cool and down-to-earth! Even though the school has had it's down moments, it is still a great place to attend. I would recommend Ranson to any parent who wants their child to really enjoy their middle school years!
9/8/2007studentRanson is a great school I went there all 3 years of middle school of course there were problems but we were all like one big family even the teachers
10/3/2006former studentI went to ranson for my 6 grade year and it caused me to make a lot of changes in my ife and they werent for the better. I would not recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a school for their child.
9/5/2005parentI think that there should have been a formal parent meeting or a letter sent to parents during the summer or right after school closed to inform parents of the new principal and what her intentions were going to be for the 2005'/2006' year. I thought that it was unfair to the parents to only find out at open house that the school was changing to a flex scheduling, in which math and language arts classes will be held on an everyday basic. Parents should have been given the opportunity and the time to decide whether or not they want their children to attend this school with the new changes or transfer to another school.
2/25/2005parentI think this school could use increased security and also a discipline plan would be great. I visit my childrens class often and their is always disruptive, disrespectful students that interrupt the class which makes it difficult for the students who care about their education. Some of the teachers/counselors have bad attitudes simply b/c of the students that are disruptive and they also take their frustrations out on the the kids that are their to learn. Parents need to be more active and involved in what's going on at their kids school. Also there was no 'formal' announcement of the new principal.
11/19/2004studenti think ranson is a good school 3 of my kids went there a they loved it.
