| 1/22/2007 | parent | This school is not that good. There is only locker breaks before and after lunch and after school. My son said the lunch food is great. The availbility of extracurricular activities is great. There are many options. All in all, this school is average but can be better. |
| 12/8/2006 | parent | Two thumbs down for this school. |
| 12/20/2005 | parent | My son attends Wyo. Area Secondary Center in a special needs class and for the first time in his school years he actually has a teacher that really teaches and pulls for her students. Thankyou Mrs. Gelso for everything. DT |
| 10/13/2004 | parent | My daughter currently attends Tenth Street Elementary and I am amazed at the education she is receiving. The level of work her teachers have her doing is very advanced for first grade- she is doing well and learing how to work to achieve success in the classroom. The teachers are very invovled with the parents and willing to help in any way to ensure your child is successful. I can't say enough about how pleased I am that she is being educated in the Wyoming Area school system. |
| 10/7/2004 | parent | I am very plesed with montgomery ave school. Great teachers. Need a better play ground and a better air conditioning system. students learning a great deal from well educated teachers. school work in third grade is difficult but rewarding seeing great progress in just 3 weeks of school from my child. |
| 10/7/2003 | parent | this school district needs good teacher leadership. the superintendent is just in place for the name. he doesn't motivate the teachers. we need the teachers to be able to teach their profession on their own level with their own thoughts of how to's. the children need to be motivated by their teachers. if you are an A student in this district you have everything working for you. if you are a failing student you have alot of programs to help you. if you are an average student there is nothing that motivates you to go forward...you are stuck in this position the rest of your school years. |
| 9/4/2003 | former student | I used to be a student at WA High School. I have been to many schools including Berwick, Crestwood, Wyoming valley west and more. I must say that WA is by far the best school. The teachers are patient and really into making sure you understand the material. The principal is also very caring, fair and very involved with the teens and extra-curricular activities. There should be a scale of 1-10, not 1-5, because Wyoming area is definately a 10. |
| 8/26/2003 | other | I am currently a junior at Wyoming Area Senior High School. I enjoy attending my high school. The classes are small so therefore if the teacher chooses can spend time with the individual students. However, the option of classes are not there.Psychology and Sociology are only offered as a senior as well as a child deveopment class. There are a lot of cooking, art and shop classes (as electives). They took out Driver's Ed this year to make a dance course required for the year younger than me. I would prefer that our school made more classes about things that will deal with our life after college. A teen class, or the child development class like they use to have. I just want to learn about life instead of taking three years of drawing. The school is a very safe place to be. We have hall monitors that watch the halls during and between classes. However, the school is not very consistent. I noticed this first hand and with some of my friends. Rules are Rules and Everyone should have to follow them. No exceptions. And lastly, we have 3 minutes between our classes and we can only stop at our lockers certain times during the day. That is leaving me with back problems because i have had to carry 3-4 large books plus notebook and such around the semi-large school while rushing to my next class. If we only have 3 minutes we will be rushed at our lockers if we were to stop between the classes and therefore that is why i think it is appropriate. But over all, I would send my child back to this school.Thank You For Listening. |
