9/27/2012parentAll around fantastic school. The teachers are excellent. The school has a strong parent involvement. High standards and good character are promoted. The Principal is outstanding. This is a safe school where all children are valued. The teachers and administrators take an interest in each child. Yes, I said, each child. Teachers who do not teach your child will know their names and, of course, the Principal knows their names. My daighter has attended since Kindergarten and is very happy there and enjoys learning.
2/6/2012parentdoby's mill has one of the best music teachers in the state working here. her name is Helen Walker. her performances are amazing and my child loves being in her classes. she was chosen to be the district teacher of the year. my child is lucky to be in her groups
5/6/2010parentThe teachers have helped my sons grow in so many ways.
12/1/2009parentQuality teachers, outstanding principal. The school always has some type of activity for the children. All around excellent school.
9/16/2009parentMy third child is now attending Doby's Mill Elementary. My first child started the year that Doby's Mill opened. The staff genuinely care about the children and their potential. The teachers and aides are always coming up with new green projects. They were doing green projects from day one, long before other schools in our area. The awards they have won showcase the children and staff's efforts but my children's knowledge and confidence levels are the reason I vote them number 1!
9/11/2008parentMy child excelled at Doby's Mill. Wonderful tech. program except for the Computer Lab is very confining and boring to the kids.
5/8/2007parentI have noticed how the staff cares about the total development of the children. Parents, staff and community seem to have a great effect in helping this school strive to be the best.
3/6/2006parentExcellent school with strong family and community-oriented programs. Finalist for state's best school award; finalist for SIC award. Not much racial diversity, though (predominantly white) however, offers opportunities for all.
3/6/2006parentGreat school with professional administrators. Clean, safe environment.
8/5/2005parentIn 2003 when we moved from Richland County to Kershaw County, I was concerned about changing my child's school district. However, this will be her third and final year at Doby's Mill and we are looking forward to her 5th Grade Year. She loves attending the school. She strives to maintain good grades and does so with the assistance of this wonderful teaching staff. I love the art work displayed throughout the school.
9/17/2004parentMy child has been at DME for three years. His test scores have soared and he loves going to school. He especially enjoys the technology programs offered. I am so glad I did not send him to a neighboring school in the area. The test scores are much better at DME also. I wish he could stay here through high school.
9/6/2004parentTalk about a top notch school! Professional, dedicated administrators and teachers truly work to ensure student success. I have seen my first grade son blossom and love school as a result of their nurturing efforts.
8/29/2004parentMy child has just begun his third year at Doby's Mill. I couldn't be happier with this school. The staff really seems to care about their students education and safety. All of the teachers my child has had have all been so open and eager to keep lines of communication open with the parents. Dr. Huggins and Ms. Catoe are wonderful leaders for the school and I am proud that my child gets to attend Doby's Mill every day.
8/5/2004parentMy son has been in several schools, since he was 4 years old. Of those, he was in a private school. He has now been at Doby's mill for the past two years. This will be his third, and now my daughter is in kindergarden there. I am here to tell you that Doby's Mill is one of the best I have seen so far. Even if they had to compete against private schools. I say this because, not only do they push academics, the entire staff cares about our children and their future. Dr. huggins and his assistant principal Ginger Catoe, are dedicated to our children and the parents. I am so proud to say that my children belong to Doby's Mill Elementary! I could not see them being any where else!
