| 4/22/2012 | parent | My sons have attended LES for 3 years now and though we had some issues the first year, the last 2 have been great! For the most part the teachers and staff are wonderful in doing all they can to challenge and be there for the children and encouraging in parent involvement. My 3rd son will start in a couple of years and based on how it has been we are looking forward to it! My children love going there and they really love their teachers That says ALOT for any parent! |
| 4/22/2012 | parent | Excellent school. Excellent Teachers. Excellent curriculum. Clean, well maintained facility. I couldn't be happier with the school. I'm proud of the education my sons are receiving at Lakeland Elementary. |
| 9/28/2010 | parent | Love this school and the teachers, the new principal. My daughter attends second grade and I feel she is challenged to do more and accomplish more. There is some parent involvement, which could improve. |
| 4/28/2010 | parent | This is my daughter's 3rd year at Lakeland Elementary School. We have been very pleased with all of the teachers. Each has their own style but all have been very qualified and exhibited care and concern towards my daughter. This year the principle has been very proactive in keeping parents involved and informed. The facilities are well kept and the support staff have all been courteous. |
| 2/26/2010 | parent | Our children have attened several schools across the country. Our transition this time has been difficult. For our family, it has been hard that the school really frowns apon parent involvement. We also find Lakeland teachers to be very friendly and warm, but lacking in training. County standards here are well below other schools my childen have attended across the country. I am very proud to say that the new principal is doing a great job to improve things. She is pushing teachers out of their comfort zones and really addressing the needs of all students. I think that given a little more time, you will see some really great changes at Lakeland. |
| 2/25/2010 | parent | As long as you don't 'rock the boat' things are great here .. Hope you don't have any issues or need special attn... It's still a public inst with govt emplys that sometimes just make things way more difficult than necessary over minor requests. |
| 11/3/2009 | parent | It's a great elementary school with great teachers and parents who have a strong desire to see their children be successful! |
| 7/28/2009 | parent | LES is one of teh best schools in TN. JKeep up the good work (Teachers, parents and students) |
| 6/23/2009 | parent | Absolutely the best school. It's unfortunate that the principal, Ms. Rouse, is retiring. The new principal will have a tough way to go after Ms. Rouse. You couldn't have asked for a more professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable leader. |
| 4/21/2009 | parent | My daughter is a gifted student and attended school at Lakeland Elementary for only a year after a job transfer. She did very well. This is an exceptional school with wonderful teachers and staff. The kids are always the number one priority. The teachers work hand in hand with the parents and PTA. If problems occur they are handled immediately. The best thing is that community and school are one and the same. I highly recommend Lakeland. |
| 1/27/2009 | parent | I have a special needs child (autism) attending this school. I have been increasingly frustrated at the amount of effort it takes to get services for my child. The associate principal who is also the special ed representative has given me much trouble for trying to get more services for my child. Of course, I believe this is probably encouraged by the district. Other than that, the teachers are very nice and good. I just wish I had more access to them for my child. |
| 4/12/2008 | parent | I have 3 children in this school and one with special needs They have brought out the most in my children I could not ask for a better school. I love it |
| 10/23/2007 | parent | I love how you are made to feel at home at Lakeland. We were there when it opened and now my second child is attending and we still love it like Day 1! |
| 10/24/2005 | parent | Lakeland Elementary is a fantastic school! From the principal on down, everyone is interested in having your child succeed and have fun doing it. I have two children in the school and couldn't be happier. If there is any question about whether or not to send your child to Lakeland, stop. You have found one of the best schools around! |
| 1/18/2005 | parent | My son has been attending Lakeland Elementary for 3 years now and he loves it as much as my husband and I do. His teachers are always very helpful to him by constantly being aware of his strengths and weaknesses. We are very happy with the academic program and how Lakeland continually strives for excellence for each of its students. The school also offers thier students computer time, PE, music, art, and library time. They are very active in the Accelerated Reader program which my son really enjoys. Lakeland Elementary encourages parental involvement for both parents who work and those who do not. There is always a way for everyone to get involved. |
| 8/20/2004 | parent | We love Lakeland Elementary. Under the leadership of Principle Nancy Rouse, Lakeland Elementary and it's staff have provided our child with a wonderful and safe learning environment. He loves going to school and is learning at an impressive rate. Parental involvement is encouraged and as result flurishes. Lakeland elementary PTA won an award for the 2003-2004 school year for the number of volunteer hours completed. We love being Lakeland Lions. |
