9/30/2012parentThe only reason I give this school three stars is because the teachers my children have. They care about educating the children. Other than that my children complain about the meals not being enough. Children are allowed to bully on the bus as long as they make sure the cameras don't catch them. Which the ill mannered ones knows because their on their last strike. So they hide the things they do or start fights between other children as well as start viscous rumors. As a mixed woman I've never seen an assistant principle do very little to insure the safety of new students to the area. It is sad when a Caucasian male who is moving tells me sorry because unless I'm white and rich my children and I will not be listened to. I am by far disappointed with the city of Ripley as a whole; because talking with the parents around the ages of 25-39 is ridiculous. They to immature and have a thug mentality.

3/27/2007parentMy son went through Ripley Elementary and had a fantastic experience. The teachers invested in him as an individual and were interested in his in school activities as well as his community experiences. They very encouraging to him in all of his endeavors. Teachers at RES made him feel important and significant while challenging him to do the same for his classmates. Academically the teachers worked hard to challenge him while teaching to the masses. The only negative is that the curriculum is not advanced enough for the higher achieving students. But his teachers cared for all students and strive to motivate all students at their varying abilities. I'd say that RES does a great job at educating our children.
3/16/2007parentRipley Elementary School offers a safe structured learning environment for its students. My Son went through Ripley Elementary and the teachers were always introducing new, creative, hands-on ways of teaching and learning into his classes. He had plenty of access to technology and the teachers used technology-internet, software programs, laser disk, internet conferences etc.. in the instruction on a regular basis. Teachers, challenged my son to think on his own and be responsible. They also taught about compassion and empathy. The school administration made good efforts to praise and reward those students who were positive influences in the school and who show academic progress with Tiger Pride Friday rewards, Tope 10 AR recognition, Principals List, Good Behavior Awards from the Guidance Office, Random Acts of Kindness Wall of Honor, and a Fight Free program rewarding the school for remaining fight free. I would recommend this school to any one.
3/15/2007parentAs a parent of a 4th grade girl at RES I have never once had to worry about her safety. These educators have established a rigid system of moving kids through the building, admitting visitors, and securing the facility. Nothing is ever absolutely perfect, but RES takes safety seriously. Academically, they push my girl to do her best and provide challenging opportunities for her via Destination Imagination, Science Fairs, Excel Classes and a challenging curriculum. Also, they love my child and all children, from the administrators down to the maintenance man who does car riders in the morning. They are always smiles and warm, unless a child has acted up and even then they're respectful of the students as young people. RES is a great school.
6/8/2006parentThis school lacks caring teachers, caring parents, and everyone that works within the school wants to push the welfare of the kids off onto someone else. Noone cares about the children. My daughter is a very bright student, but she has severely suffered since I had to put her in this school. Before we moved here, she rated way above average in every scholastic area, now it's a fight and ordeal to get her to go to school. Avoid this school district if at all possible, or teach your children at home.
