| 5/29/2011 | parent | My family recently moved here from another state and we were told by our realtor that we should absolutely buy a home in the Sory Elementary school zone. I'm so blessed that we did! From the front office staff, the Principal, and the teachers, we couldn't be more pleased. We have 2 of our kiddos currently in school there and another that will begin next year. The kids can't wait to get to school each day. They are NOT looking forward to Summer Vacation because they will not be going to school. How do you beat that?? Congratulations Sherman ISD...you have a class act school in Sory Elementary! |
| 5/13/2009 | parent | I'm a parent of a student and also a employee of the school district. I was real excited that my son started K and was looking forward to the education and guidance he would recieve at this school. Then when I found out that Mr Traw was going to be the principal we knew this was the school that my son was going to. As a school employee I could pick and elementary in the district. Mr Traw is a very nice and caring principal. He also is strict in certain things which is obviosly needed in his position. My son had the honors of recieving Mrs. Johnson as his K teacher, she is wonderful and is very concerned about each child's education that is in her classroom. We could not have asked for a better school and group of professional and kind individuals than that Sory Elementary has. Thank You |
| 11/15/2008 | other | My granddaughter attends sory and we are very pleased with the schools teachers |
| 9/18/2008 | parent | So far this school seems great, and my girls seem to love it. The only thing that I didnt like was the whole pick up situation, it takes forever, but i guess its something I can get use to. The principal, is very, very nice, as well as the teachers that i have met. I like how at the beginning of every month, they send a newsletter to all parents letting them know whats new that month and what we should expect. |
| 9/10/2008 | parent | Sory was built in 2008. Brand new facility. My son is a 2nd grader at Sory Elementary. The principal, Mr. Traw transfered to Sory from Wakefield Elementary (as did the Assistant Principal). Both are exceptional administrators. I know that several outstanding teachers from across the district transfered to Sory. For the most part an All-Star Team of educators. My son has Ms. Gudgel....she is absolutately wonderful. Even at this point in the year, she has initiated several things to make learning fun. She seems to truly care about each individual child's needs/learning styles/etc...and wants each of them to have a successful learning experience. So far....I love it, as does my son. |
