Standouts include the math program (3 gifted teachers), the history program (2 gifted teachers), the English program (4 outstanding teachers) and the science program with 2 exceptional instructors. The overall discipline in the school could use some improvement, but considering the near Title 1 status of the student body and the exceptionally high SOL scores which the student body wracks up year after year, it is obvious that there is an exceptional teaching staff in place and at work. With regard to the discipline problems, these seem to originate more from a lack of support from the Central Office of the county than from the leadership of the school. |
