| 12/26/2011 | parent | This school is full of above and beyond teachers. The principal himself also cares very greatly about the students. You can see the genuine care and joy on these teacher's faces when they work with the kids. And my boys just love every one! I am also very impressed with the resources this school allocates. It has great special programs for children with "above" or "below" average learning. Which is something that many public schools lack. This school's special education dept is TOP notch! Mrs. Paulin is FANTASTIC! I have been VERY impressed! |
| 12/1/2009 | parent | whoever put Mrs. Lehnertz down as a great teacher!! Super! I loved her! She was so patient and just wonderful.. Ms. Mayer is good too |
| 10/27/2009 | parent | The Jackson Elementary School teachers provide excellent and focused education to students of our rural communities. Sometimes the teachers face the most challenging and difficult circumstances without additional support staff or resources to handle the overload. There seems to be a myth propagated among general citizens that teachers don't do enough for their pay and are actually spoiled, part-time workers. Nothing could be further from the truth. This school staff remains graceful during stressful times and keeps their standards high. It is not easy being a teacher in this day and age. So much is set upon them from local, state & federal agencies. Each year there are more children per classroom, more special needs children integrated, more tests required by law & more personal time devoted by teachers to meet their workload. I would vote 4th grade teacher Mrs. Lehnerz as teacher of the year. |
| 3/31/2009 | parent | I really like the school for the most part, but there are a few teachers who nit pick the students. I think some of the teachers need to put their feelings aside about stuff like ADD/ADHD and other issues the children have. I realize You can't do what You could in the 70's, but these teachers need to understand these kids a little better. As for extra activities, they do lack in that area, but the Phy Ed teacher is awesome! |
| 1/14/2009 | parent | We have mixed feelings about this school. The teacher seems great, but at times nit picks small behavior outbursts. Last year I know of three times my child was mis-placed. When accidents happens, as a parent you have to ask to be contacted. The teachers do try to work with you as much as possible. Picking up and dropping of what a nightmare. No supervision. Yes, the police ar there to give tickets, but what a mess. There has to be a better school out there. |
| 4/6/2006 | parent | I loved sending my 5 year old there. She had learned so much. I have had to move and take her out of school there. She learned so much. And teachers are great. |
| 1/26/2006 | parent | I am greatly disappointed in this school. My child is in the 1st grade and has been treated as a failure daily. The teachers expectations of a 6-7 yr old boy is to sit quietly, never speak out of turn, always respect people, play as part of team---what normal 6-7 yr old boy does that? Give me a break. They push and rough-house and are easily excited...doesn't mean they have a learning disability. Shame. We are looking elsewhere. Too bad they don't realize that the more behavior is nit-picked and scrutinized (NORMAL behavior may I remind you) the more a child will grow up thinking something is wrong with him. Is that what school is all about? This is a child that likes to play Soduko and understands the concepts---is that ADD? Give me a break! |
| 12/16/2005 | parent | This school currently has 27 children in each 3rd grade class room and the superintendant of west bend has decided to cut more teachers next year. This school district is in trouble. My child will go to a private school next year. |
| 6/7/2005 | parent | Awesome school! I've had 2 children attend - one now in high school and one in middle school and a 3rd presently at Jackson. Great teacher - parent interaction. |
