Havana, AR is a small town in Arkansas with a population of about 600. It is located in Yell County and is governed by the Yell County Quorum Court. The Quorum Court consists of nine justices of the peace elected from single-member districts who serve two-year terms. Since each district has its own representative, local residents can have their voices heard through their representatives on matters concerning the town and county. Havana also has a mayor and city council which deal with issues that are specific to the town such as zoning regulations, traffic ordinances, and other matters. Residents can get involved in local politics by attending council meetings or running for office themselves. By participating in these civic processes, citizens of Havana have a say in how their town develops and prospers.
