Belpre, OH is a small city located in Washington County in Ohio. The city population is approximately 6,000 people and it has a mayor-council form of government. The current mayor of Belpre is Michael Lorentz, who was elected in 2019 for his first term. There are seven members on the City Council, five of whom were recently elected in 2019 and two appointed at-large members. On the local political scene, Belpre has two major political parties: the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. Both parties have active branches within Belpre that participate in various activities such as debates, rallies and other events to enhance their respective candidates’ chances of winning elections. Additionally, several independent candidates also run for office from time to time.
