The town itself is quiet and unremarkable, and offers little to do, although there is a good set of performing arts amenities. The central location is near several areas of interest: the Finger Lakes and Ithaca to the northwest, where Cornell University provide cultural amenities; New York City to the southeast; and the Adirondacks to the northeast.
