Ellwood City, PA is a nice smaller city in western PA. The ZIP code for Ellwood's population (16117) is around 16,000 in 2010. This community use to be a steel production powerhouse from the late 1800's through the collapse in the 1970's. Ellwood reached its highest popluation in the 1940's at around 42,000 residents. The culture in Ellwood is vast, but the two major nationalities are German and Italian.

Major cities around Ellwood include Pittsburgh which is only a 40-45 minute drive taking I-76, I-79, and I-279. Another big city is Youngstown OH, which is only 35-40 Minutes from town.

Today it lacks job opportunities and entertainment. There is a country club, and a few other golf courses, along with a new night club in the uptown near west end called Jergels.
