Northport - visit, but don't live there - 12/8/2007
The Kentuck Art Festival is based in Northport, and several artists live and work in this little Southern town. Some grad students from the nearby University of Alabama campus live in Northport. The historic downtown area has a few art galleries, a spa, a truly excellent bakery (Mary's Cakes), and a decent restaurant.
