Tucson Economy Misleading - 1/2/2017
I for the most part agree with James about Tucson's state of health. If it were not for the UofA, Raytheon, Hospitals and Davis Monthan AFB, Tucson would be a dust spot along the road. Also, don't forget about who contributes to the Tucson economy. It's the Snow Birds and the Sonorans. The snow birds shop and eat here during their stay. The Sonorans come here and shop too. It amazes me how many washers and dryers are loaded up in pickup trucks headed south. The stuff is made in Mexico, but I guess they can not buy it there. Tuscon is bustling with Sonoran license plates around the Thanksgiving to Christmas time. The new outlet mall off of Twin Peaks is 99% Sonoran around this time of year. And 99% of the shoppers have lots of shopping bags in their hands. Same goes for the Nordstum Outlets, Sonoran. This means sales taxes were collected. Personally, I think we should have a tax free day for any snow bird and Sonoran to thank them for contributing to Tucson's economy.

Not so great - 1/25/2015
Not a very great exciting city unless you like outdoors. You would of thought racism was a thing of past. Not here, it's funny how people try to make it seem like all people are friendly here. It's not and quit hiding it. I'm half W/B , I'm a little lighter skin than some of my black friends and boy some of the things would surprise you. If your white you basically get treated differently. I see it all the time. For the person who said its as nice as Colorado. Don't think so. This place is dirty roads are shot and takes forever to get anywhere. Malls are terribly and nobody knows how to dress up. The place needs freeways. My friends in Phoenix refer to tucson as the ugly, poor redheaded stepchild of Arizona. What's nice about tucson is that it is 1.5 hours away from metro city that's it. Saguaro's are the ugliest desert plants I have seen. hiking - 8/11/2008
Here are several hiking spots in the surrounding areas in Tucson. The Sabino Canyon has several hiking trails that are safe and well marked. THere is a great place the Desert Museum on the west side of town. It is very scenic and is built to explore the desert animals and plant life. Lots of great volunteers walking around to answer questions and show off the plant life. Catalina Foothills - 3/2/2007
I love it here! The beauty of the mountains surrounding Tucson is so gorgeous! The air is clean! The climate is wonderful with most days without a cloud in the sky. The desert foilage is more than you would expect; mule deer and coyotes are frequent visitors to my back yard. There are the most beautiful birds in the world here and many hummingbirds drink the nectar of the plants in my courtyard that I view through my study window. Be one with nature and move here where the perfect paradise
