Comments about Chandler, AZ - 11/14/2005
I keep reading about how Chandler AZ. is such a booming and great place to be, however since I've been here for 10 Years I still don't see it. It is very much in line with the rest of the Valley Of The Sun in that it is a constant stream of strip malls, Wall-Marts, Home Depots and chain stores. It has no identity of it own other then being yet another homoginized city.
There is nothing unique about living here except for stucco houses. If your not a golfer and don't care to shop at a mall in your free time, you'll find this place quite boring. As for jobs in Chandler, if you don't work for Intel, then plan on a commute to Tempe, Phoenix or elsewhere.
It's pretty clean and I hear the schools are good but very crowded. It used to be easy to afford to buy a home here...but no longer. Home prices here have gotten out of hand, due mostly by California speculators.

New homes are outragous!! Most starting in the 400K range. BUT I guess you pay for the weather and scenery!! We are moving to Colorado springs after just 3 yrs here... too hot in the

Phoenix is a Great Place for Couples to Build a Fu - 10/23/2005
I just moved here (last July 2005) from the So. Cal area because my fiance and I were lucky to purchase a home in Chandler, AZ. I am very happy that I left California: It's getting too crowded and it's merely impossible to build a future when real estate prices are at the top of its peak; (No, we don't plan to live in poverty.) The Phoenix area is growing tremendously and it might become like another L.A. in the next five to ten years. I suggest that if you're thinking wbout purchasing here,do it now or else the boat will leave
