We love Quartzsite AZ all year! - 1/28/2020
We moved here from southern California. We had visited a couple of Winters and enjoyed it so much. It was hot where we moved from so the heat was no surprise. Strangely enough it was a more comfortable heat somehow. Or so least it didn't bother us at much.
We're moved here in May so we spent the summer here. It was hot but ok. We love in our motorhome and since we decided to be permanent we bought two small window AC units. Keeps us very cool and the electric bill was in the $60 range! Cheap!
We love the small town and it's friendly people. And everyone seems to look forward to the fall and the return of the snowbirds.
There's plenty to do even in the summer with the QIA and the gem and mineral club. Everyone has AC.

DON'T LIVE IN QUARTZSITE, AZ - 7/6/2015
Maybe parts of the Colorado River are great and the camping in the winter time is fun but the summers are the second hottest in AZ. No where to go no shopping malls, no theaters and lots of snakes it is a nothing town with corrupt senior apartments ran by a very bad management company. Don't waste your time coming here an don't think you are going to save money because it is a senior "Tax Credit" property. No hospital, no doctors, and you must drive over to CA to Blythe which offers not much more or go to Parker, AZ which is on an Indian Reservation leased by AZ so everything costs more!
Beware Seniors of Quartzsite Senior Apartments in particular and also no US mail delivery no good phone service and only satellite TV. Not a good place to live at least in the Read More

Quatrzsite is Not Worth the Trip - 2/10/2009
Have been going to Quartzsite for about 15 years for the flea market and shows and things have been going downhill at this yearly event in recent years. The town has been charging ever more money to vendors to set up their stalls in Quartzsite and over the last couple of years, there has been fewer and fewer vendors showing up. It just isn't worth the trip anymore.

Also, there is a police presence in Quartzsite that I'd not noticed in recent years. The town has become a police trap with the cops shaking down out of state tourists - no not me, but I heard complaints from others. There are better places to Read More
