Utilities? - 7/23/2016
I am curious. My family and I reside in Alaska full time, but decided to try renting a winter home in the town of Maricopa. We were shocked as to how expensive the utilities were, and coming from Alaska where everything is expensive that's saying something. Especially the water/sewer bill there. What is the Water bills average in Queen Creek or a 3 bed 2 bath house?  Read More

Great place to live - 1/6/2015
I have been in Queen Creek for almost 10 years. It's probably one of the cleanest communities I have lived in. After living in Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale, Denver, Atlanta and Orlando I can't say enough good things about Queen Creek. We don't have the congestion of Scottsdale nor with the crime of Phoenix. The only part of the town that is lacking is a Catholic school but other than that if you haven't noticed the tremendous about of new commercial growth it's worth taking a look at.  Read More

I love it! - 5/17/2011
I love Queen Creek!! We moved here almost a year ago from Portland, OR. I have to say it a completely different world!! We are in a lower middle class neighborhood (subdivision) and moved here sightunseen, we plan to move when our lease is up to something with a little higher price range and then next year we plan to buy a home in Queen Creek. I am currently a SAHM looking to go back to work and I think the commute is well worth the rural area of Queen Creek that we live in. It is pretty quiet, there is a little crime like pety theft but I don't worry much about my daughter playing outside. I like her school!! The class size is a little big but the buildings are new and able to accomadate a bigger class size. There are a lack of real restaurants out here but if you like fast food then its fine. lol. We did just get a Olive Garden and Dennys not long ago and I would assume other places like Applebees, Texas Roadhouse, Chili's isn't too far behind. I am getting used to the Read More

I hate Queen Creek, AZ - 2/10/2011
I have now lived in Queen Creek, Arizona for 6 years now and I hate it. I wish I had never moved to Arizona. If you are a devout Mormon then you will love living in Queen Creek. They own the town. I had to pull my child out of the school here because it was so horrible. The hot summers are a nightmare! It doesn't matter that it's "dry" because once it hits 105 and over it's an OVEN. There is no relief from it. It is all mormons and lots of illegals of course. The housing market crashed here like no other place and now my home has lost so much value I can't even sell it if I wanted to. And I wish I could to move out of Queen Creek and at least to Chandler where there aren't as many wierd mormons hanging out! I would love to move completely out of Arizona but can't because of job market as my husband has a good job here. I can't wait until he can retire to get the hell out of here! Do yourself a favor and don't move to Arizona...especially if you have kids which made it Read More

Living in Queen Creek - 3/21/2010
I am thinking of moving to Queen Creek from Washington State, but I'm worried about the job market. How bad is it there and what fields are hiring? I currently am a Veterinary Asst but have worked in the the social service field most of my working career. I also have 2 dogs, a Pekingese and English Mastiff. How bad is the heat for these breeds that don't really do well in the heat anyway? Any info would be greatly Read More

Queen Creek sucks - 9/29/2008
I moved to Queen Creek 3 years ago from a more "central" suburb of Phoenix. I only chose Queen Creek because there were no houses available anywhere else in the metro area. I have been miserable ever since. The property taxes are outrageous & keep going up. Those taxes don't provide for fire service, so the "for profit" fire service in the area bills us $450 a year just-in-case they might have to come to our house. The properties all have HOAs (unless you have the luxury of affording a horse property). HOAs SUCK. I am sick of driving an hour or more to do ANYTHING. There are no bars in the area (except a couple of backwards country bars). Only recently have a few shopping centers opened up. No mall. No good restaurants. No good bars. No culture. Just a sewer smell from raw sewage spilled into the wash near my house. Property values have fallen to unbelievable lows. More than half the houses on any given block are for sell, others are for rent or in foreclosure. People Read More
