What BestPlaces Users Say about Surprise

As a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, Surprise has a population of over 134,000 people and is known for its affordable housing and retirement communities. It also boasts a variety of recreational activities, including several golf courses and parks. However, like any city, there are pros and cons to living in Surprise. To get a better understanding, let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net.

According to "Janet" on BestPlaces.net, Surprise is a great city for families, stating, "We have been living in Surprise for 10 years now and we absolutely love it. Our neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are plenty of parks and community events for families to enjoy." Similarly, "Mark" agrees, saying, "Surprise is a great place to raise a family. The schools are good and there's plenty of outdoor activities to keep the kids busy."

On the other hand, "Samantha" has a different perspective, mentioning the high heat and lack of diversity as downsides of living in Surprise. She says, "The summers here are brutal, and the lack of diversity can be a bit frustrating. It feels like everyone is either retired or raising a young family, and there's not much for young adults or singles to do." "Joseph" echoes this sentiment, writing, "Surprise is a great place if you're retired or have young kids, but as a single person, I find it pretty boring. There's not much nightlife or cultural activities here."

In summary, the general consensus from these user reviews is that Surprise is a great place to live for families and retirees, with plenty of outdoor activities and a safe community. However, for young adults and singles, it may not offer as much in terms of diversity and entertainment.

Imagine Elementary Charter - 2/28/2013
I have a 2nd grader at Imagine Rosefield, this is our first year of being here and absolutely love this school. After being in public schools for two years and my daughter constantly being bullied and being told every day that the only thing keeping her out of the principles office for talking is because she's such a sweet girl, I knew than It was time to pull her out of public school. At Imagine Rosefield the staff is wonderful I have not had any problems with them what so ever. They are extremely helpful and understanding. The teachers are wonderful they encourage the kids to push a little harder to reach there next goal whether it be in reading or math. The school is on top of the bully issue and gets things resolved quickly. They really make the kids accountable for their actions . This school builds up our children and lets them know they can do anything they Read More

After being in public schools for two years and my daughter constantly being bullied and being sexually harassed by a fourth grader and no one doing anything about it because they did not believe her and being told every day that the only thing keeping her out of the principles office for talking is because she's such a sweet girl, I knew than It was time to pull her out of public school. My daughter is in the first grade and she loves it. I feel like I can speak to her teacher about anything, her teacher even met with me 10 minutes prior to school closing for the day. When my son is old enough he'll be attending too. Just love them! Read More

Imagine Rosefield Charter School - 2/25/2013
We've been homeschooling our children right up to this last fall, but with my wife going back to school, we needed to make a change. We did a lot of research about where to send our youngest three children (1st, 3rd, and 5th grades), and we're so glad we went with Imagine Rosefield! Of course, our children have varied learning styles and abilities, even IEPs, and after doing IEPs with our local school district, this has been such a relief where they've gone above and beyond instead of trying to provide as little as possible for our two younger children who have additional needs. As a school, they are excellent! Not only built on principles, but their teachers live them, and everything they do encourages the students to as well. Our oldest just had 8th grade left before high school so we let him go with his neighborhood friends here, and the contrast is clear between his educational environment at our local school in the district that he's attending, and the kind of learning Read More

I have a child in the Imagine rosefield charter school I wanted to write this review in favor of this school I love it the teachers are great and they really take the time to work with each child. My daughter was in the public school system and I pulled her from Rancho gabriella because the teacher she had in 4th grade was not helpful at all and kept blaming my child for everything so I put her in the charter school and her teacher took her under her wing and helped her out and worked with her. Finally her grades came way up and she loved to go to school again. Now this year she is in 5th grade at the same charter school and she adores her teacher she speaks very highly of her and she takes the time to talk with her and work on anything that she needs help with. I give all the teachers and staff an A++++++ and I would recommend this school to anybody looking for a great school. My daughter will continue on in the charter schools until she graduates high Read More
