Great Area - 10/13/2006
Little Rock and vicinity is a great place for families and overall every type of people to live and work. The city has a population of about 200,000, with a metro pop. of almost 600,000. Culture and the arts are greatly influenced by the different ethnic groups that have invested ideas and information in this area. The West Little Rock area is booming with residential and commercial growth. The climate of Little Rock is great in the fall and spring, when the weather is mild and drier. Summer is relatively humid and temps often soar into the upper 90s and low 100s. Winter is wonderful with mild temps and an occasion light dusting of snow. Although Arkansas has been ranked low in educational quality and opportunity, the city of Little Rock has great schools that provide plenty of AP classes, especially the Pulaski County Special School District. Many industries such as cellular phone companies + organizations are based in the LR vicinity. Overall, I have greatly enjoyed my experience in

Working in LR - 9/13/2006
I drive every day to work in LR from Conway and I occassionally go shopping here. Traffic is terrible on the weekdays and bumper to bumper during rush hours. Since I have looked into what it would be like to live in CA I would think the person questioning a move from CA to AR would find the cost of living much, much cheaper. My house in Conway is 1700 sq. ft, all brick, about 8 years old and was purchased at less that $120,000. This house would probably sell now at just under $150,000. For that price range in CA I would live in a cardboard box I

Boring - 9/3/2006
Suffice it to say, it's not a great place to live. People are not friendly and can be quite pretentious. And though it may not appear to be particularly segregated, there is still a lot of "us" and "them" mentality. I cannot wait to

Trying to get info about cost of living in Little - 8/25/2006
I am considering a move to the Little Rock area since I have family there. I currently live in LA, and it's just too expensive, crowded, and overall not the best place to live. Can anyone give me more info about the quality of live/cost of living in the Little Rock area? I have researched alot about the job market there, and there seems to be plenty in my field. Of course, the pay is much less than here in CA but that's to be expected. I would like to own a home there, and I was wondering if it's realistic to own a home based on the salaries there. If anyone can provide any info, that would be great.

Interesting Community - 3/1/2006
It's a good place for folks with families. If you're between 30-40 yrs old, single, professional, a minority and not a native of Arkansas, you may want to set your sights on another city because it is somewhat difficult getting connected in this community. But overall, it is a relatively friendly place with a variety of activities to keep you occupied. Great if you like the

cost of living is skewed here - 2/27/2006
This is a cheap place to live, but the prices of luxury homes and the incomes of the uber wealthy mess up the averages. The gap between rich and poor here is like that of a third world country. Oh, and they tax food (along with every other thing)
