Norphlet is a prosperous suburb of El Dorado, Arkansas. Norphlet has a new chemical plant that makes a coolant that is used in auto air conditioners. There are other chemical plants and oil refineries in the area. Norphlet has the highest median household income of any town in that part of arkansas. A private organization provides a free college tuition to all Norphlet High School graduates who have at least a C+
