Mild climate - 9/24/2011
A great place for outdoor-active people. Essentially no rain from March through November, and temperatures above 90F for only about 3-4 wks total. Winter cold can vary according to microclimate and the particular year. It can get down to low teens some years, but usually mid 20's are about it. Even during the wet season, you can count on many mild sunny days. If you are really into gardening, choose another East Bay city such as Berkeley, Oakland, San Leandro, etc. There you can grow pretty much anything you can imagine. Danville is too harsh for citrus and other frost-sensitive species unless Read More

I don't know whether you made up the voter registration data for Danville and other Contra Costa Cities or took the countywide data and inferred that for each individual city. In either case it is false information and should be corrected or taken Read More

Danville CA - 8/18/2008
A beautiful peaceful East Bay affluent residential community with a small charming downtown set among rolling hills along freeway 680 inland from Oakland and Berkeley. Perfect cool mornings, warm afternoons, low humidity weather. Next to Mt. Diablo State Park. Less expensive than Marin or the SF Pennisula but still costly. Minimal retail yet good middle and high end shopping 10-20 minutes distant in Walnut Read More

Invasion - 6/29/2008
I see there are still a lot of ignorant people that blame Californians for all there Cities problems; have these ignoramus ever thought once what drove Californians out of their beautiful State? Is it because they preferred Austin or Boise over the beach? Their 260 days of sunshine and mild climate for humid Texas or snowy Colorado? Or is it that the Asian (Asian means all of Asia i.e. India) drove them out of California by driving the prices and population up? Did you know that the US population is 3rd in the world at 303 million people (4.56% of the World population), China 1st in the World population with 1.324 BILLION (19.86% of the World population), followed by India with 1.134 BILLION (17.01% of the World population). Watch out!!!! Their coming to invade your State Read More

The Danville "Bubble" - 5/11/2007
The local kids call it simply "The Bubble". They are referring to the sheltered, protected and somewhat insular quality of life in the Danville, CA area. From an overall quality of life perspective, it is hard to beat in terms of climate, activities, low crime, family/kids-orientation and location relative to a major metro area. The drawbacks are the housing "cost of entry" and overall Bay Area traffic. I've lived in Chicago and Denver, both great cities, but this area is second to Read More

Danville: NYC doesn't have anything on DVILLE! - 8/24/2006
Danville is possibly the most exciting place to live...period. I have lived in LA, NYC and Santa Cruz and none of those places can top Danville's night life. The two bars, count 'em, TWO bars in downtown are open late...I think till 11pm...and like all the big booming cities in America, our local Denny's is open ALL NIGHT LONG! There are so many restaurants here that are reasonably priced at about $25 per plate and the parks in Danville are some of the best too. Just watch out if you're swinging on the swings or playing basketball/baseball as the fuzz doesn't like the white folks to play after dark. Instead, as one fine police officer suggested to us after busting our delinquint arses while we played an after hours basketball game, that we should go to a bar and get drunk. What a fine suggestion from Danville's finest! And like I said above, we've got two of the best! The 50 year old honeys make you swoon over the $10 drinks while their minds pulse with the narcotics only those who Read More
