Lots of character and sub-communities - 12/4/2023
Oceano is an underrated gem if you ask me. Like other coastal parts of central and southern California the weather and scenery is terrific.

Unlike a lot of the other towns near however, Oceano has a lot of variety from one neighborhood area to another. So be aware of that when you look at the average numbers. There are many manufactured home, small condos, old homes with alleyways. These are homes of many less affluent residents for the coast of San Luis Obispo.

But due to these communities one can also find good deals to buy a full Ocean-edge large estates in nice part of Oceano. Or a small traditional or recently built single family home similar to a lot of pricer homes Grover Beach of Arroyo Grande. The home and neighborhood might be about the same or even a bit better than the median home in Grover or AG. But the price can be much cheaper. Quiet low-key place with great weather - 2/5/2019
I've lived here for a year and I love it. The weather is great, the beach is 10 minutes away, Great American Melodrama is in Oceano with good fun theater. The part I live in has wild peacocks roaming around, which I think is quite fun. The area is relaxed and low-key. I haven't noticed any gang problems at all, despite the previous reviewer's comments. Go 15 minutes away to Santa Maria and you'll find the gangs all over the place. It's 15 minutes to San Luis Obispo, which is a college town with an art theater called the Palm Theatre. Relax here, then go to San Luis Obispo if you need some excitement.Read More

Ugly - 3/8/2010
oceano is a realy ugly place to live in besides having no side walks, realy bad ugly weather, and no point of existing, they have a little gang that calls them selfs oceano 13 oysters or what ever, they are always getting put down by there rivals Nipas 13 (in nipomo). Some people might find that place intersting but it is dead and boring. So over all i would not recomend living there, if you'r looking for a place in the five cities i recomend Grover beach or close to santa maria in a nice town named Read More
