Banning still a retirement community bedroom commu - 8/4/2018
Small city with a very nice Mediterranean climate cool, humid winters with mildly hot dry short july-,aug hot summers similar to los Angeles climate but less humid and cooler nights because of the high elevation 2500 ft.. I am here for 17 years and it is still a retirement town that has no nightlife whatsoever although not as economically developed retail, jobs etc, as it's next door sister city beaumont the weather is a little warmer a couple of degrees in banning than beaumont it is perfectly located and relatively close to every city in so. cal if you don't mind driving 30 min to 1.5 hours you can visit anywhere in so cal. Only downside is the commute 30 min out of this town, 20 min redlands, 30 min Palm springs, this is a bedroom community to San bernardino, riverside and still Read More

tickets - 6/24/2015
while at lions park this am in banning walking my dogs, and i always pick up the dog poo as i always carry baggies on me. i had to use the porta potty as i have a lot of health issues and noticed the officer writing me a ticket for having taken up two spaces, but their was nobody their and no games going on at the ballpark, i held up a finger for just a minute and he took off. as i am a law abiding citizen i can't understand why they wouldn't just give me a warning? I appreciate all that they do for the community and risk their lives everyday as i do to, i can't help it i have so many health issues and no family to help me as i have to live in a high crime area of banning. as i always pray that something good from GOD will change for Read More

Good and Bad points - 1/12/2014
I swore I would never live in Banning and here I am for 14 years now. When I moved here it had a reputation of being a crime infested ghetto with lousy schools. It was definitely run down. But over the years I think the local government has tried to improve Banning. They have rebuilt many historical places and Habitat for Humanity is quite active. They primarily rebuild old houses. At first I was quite impressed with the elementary schools. They have all day kindergarten and our kids did quite well. But a couple of years ago the principal defended the schools' decision to not teach science and social studies saying it was a state mandate. Yeah right! Our kids go to private school now. If you were to drive through Banning and you were from LA or somewhere, you would not be impressed. We live in an unincorporated area of Banning on our own piece of paradise - a ranch - in a rural, secluded place. We love our land but Banning itself is not that great. It's not as bad as we Read More

Sun Lakes Country Club - Senior Country Club Livin - 6/22/2012
Wonderful gated senior community with 24 hour security and security patrol. Features approximately 3,400 homes with 51 different models. A home for just about any budget or life style. Community has two 18 hole golf courses, three club houses and just about any group or activity a active senior would want. 15 minutes to Casino and Outlet stores, 30 minutes to downtown Palm Springs. Local shopping and hospital nearby. Cooler than Palm Springs because it is at 2,600 feet above sea level in the San Gorgonio Pass. Other nearby cities are Riverside, Hemet, Moreno Valley, Yucaipa Redlands and San Bernardino. Read More

Small city that is trying to revive itself with mixed success. It's on the edge of the desert, fewer than ten miles from the Morongo Indian Reservation, casino, and outlet shopping. The weather is HOT 9 months out of the year and relatively cold in the winter months.Read More
