Beautiful but awful - 9/8/2017
This is a beautiful area with lots of trees and wildlife. Every summer you are smoked out and pray ther are no fires. You pay outrageous prices for gas and food so you need to do shopping in auburn about 15-20 miles away. They are building lots of new overpriced homes. The sad thing is they are building them next to shacks or other low income housing. They try to sell you but hide the reality of what's going on. It's a lot of crazy people who are loud and have barking dogs, loud parties. It's like living in one huge campground. My parents have lived there for years and are desperately trying to get out due to the noise and plain ignorance of the people. Don't be fooled by the natural beauty. Look very closely at what's really happening and if you say anything you are and outcast. Praying for my Read More

This beautiful TINY TOWN REALL SUCKS.
1. There IS no PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
If you want to get into Auburn, CA really bad you must get to the main road and stick out your thumb. Yeeks.
2. The local super market is grossly overpriced. At a REASONABLE MARKET IN AUBURN A BAG OF SMALL MANDERINES FOR $1.99 Foresthill $6.99.
3. The drive from Aub to FH is about 20 miles, the road has 74 curves on it and 4-5 passing lanes. Every yahoo and or A-HOLE has to get in front of you no matter what, often making you do some serious defensive driving.
I could go on and on, the long time residents up here do not like change period. They will let you know about it making you feel real uncomfortable for your safety.
MY STRONG ADVICE IS STAY AWAY FROM THESE CRAZIES UP HERE. If YOU MUST, DO NOT STOP HERE. DO ALL YOUR SHOPPING AT HOME. GAS IS 50 CENTS MORE UP HERE.
FED UP WITH THESE CREATURES HERE AND CANNOT WAIT TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE.

Small Town - 7/19/2009
Foresthill is a retirement community mostly. It is small and beautiful; with local lakes and rivers. The town itself doesn't have much of an economy, and it is difficult for businesses to survive here. Because of the small population and low enrollment combined with the California budget cuts, the schools have sufferred greatly. It is a sweet place though, and has a nice small town feel for raising your Read More
