Clarification from a Resident - 7/1/2024
I'm not sure how they got the description of Greenhorn so wrong. I live here- there is nothing here except Greenhorn Ranch, which is only open to guests who book their summer vacations there. There are no stores, shops, restaurants- nothing. It is really just a neighborhood offshoot of Quincy, California which is about a 15-20 minute drive from here. It's not a bad place to live if you like lots of privacy and the company of forest animals. It's quiet, peaceful. There's been no crime in the 2 years we have lived here. Probably the best part of Greenhorn is the entire town uses a well system; so we pay a fee quarterly and can use all the water we want. It's lovely not to worry about going over your water budget. Greenhorn is also up a steep mountain so we do get seriously snowed in in the winter. We are looking to relocate as the kids are miserable here- absolutely nothing to do. But if you can afford to stock up for winter snow-ins, it's not a bad place to live. Just know that there's
