What BestPlaces Users Say about Hemet
Hemet, California is a small city located in Riverside County. With a population of just over 85,000 people, it is known for its beautiful parks and outdoor recreational activities. However, like any city, it has its pros and cons. In order to get a better understanding of what it's like to live in Hemet, let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net.
According to John from Hemet, "The weather here is fantastic. We get plenty of sunshine year-round and the winters are mild. It's perfect for outdoor activities." On the other hand, Samantha shares a different perspective, saying "The summers can get unbearably hot and there's not much relief. It's definitely something to consider if you're thinking about moving here."
In terms of safety, James states that "Hemet has a lower crime rate compared to surrounding cities, making it a great place to raise a family." However, Jessica has a different experience, mentioning that "I've personally witnessed some crime in the area, so I always make sure to be cautious when walking alone at night."
One recurring theme among reviews is the cost of living in Hemet. As Emily puts it, "Housing prices are relatively affordable, which is a big plus. But the cost of groceries and everyday items can be higher than other areas." Conversely, Josh mentions that "I moved here from Los Angeles and the cost of living is significantly lower. It's a great place to save money and have a good quality of life."
Overall, it seems that residents of Hemet have mixed views on living in this city. The weather and outdoor recreation opportunities are highly praised, while the cost of living and occasional safety concerns are points to consider. It's clear that Hemet has its own unique charm and drawbacks, and ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide if it's the right place for them to call home.

Not as nice as it used to be... - 6/27/2010
Hemet used to be a nice place to live an raise a family. Sadly there has been a drastic downward turn for this city over the past few years. Hemet High School is still a great school and the east side of town is older and better established. However, there are well over 100 registered sex offenders in the 92544 area code alone. Shootings and stabbings are a weekly happening around town and I've only seen them increase because I work in town as a paramedic. The economy here only makes that all worse. Me an my family will be moving out of here as soon as we can afford to...

I can't get out of here fast enough - 3/22/2007
I agree with firehart who wrote previously. I have lived here for 20 years and remember when we truly didn't have to lock our doors. Now I have to be mindful of my surroundings all the time and I fear the criminal element that has come into the area. What I would like to add is the miserable state of our public schools. Before you move here, read the statistics regarding free lunches and breakfasts, number of students requiring English language instruction, and research the safety of your children. Look at the test scores. Look at our property tax and building fees that support our lousy schools. It has already been discussed that housing has become expensive. But there aren't any local jobs that pay enough to afford this. I'm plannng my escape soon. It's just too hot in the summer to put up with what this awful place has

A great place to live - 12/27/2006
I moved here with my family, wife and four kids, over 2 years ago. There's lots to do and the scenery is fantastic. There are mountains, hills, trails, and a new lake. There's shopping and restaraunts of every kind. We particularly like the area we live in--Diamond Valley. Horse properties and lots of open area. The kids, wife, and I have had all kinds of great adventures: canoeing, rockclimbing, hiking, horseback riding, roller hockey tournaments, etc. Too much to list. The West still lives and
