Very Expensive Area - 4/7/2010
Laguna Niguel is a very pleasant city of about 60,000 people in Orange County California. The weather is beautiful in the winter and rather warm in the summer since our home does not face the west. A large number of trails are located in the city which I make use of when I run. The City is well run and quite responsive to citizen needs it is a little to large. Traffic can be heavy at various times of the day but you live with that. Overall a very good bedroom community but I am looking for something out of California since this state has become tax crazy. An area were the taxes fit the citizens and not for the state to supplement their uncontrolled

Laguna Niguel -- Boring and Pricey - 7/13/2008
Many people choose to live in Laguna Niguel because it is a safe place to raise their children. I was raised here, I grew up here, and let me be the first to tell you that Laguna Niguel, CA is NOT the place to go.
Republican suburbia's definition of 'safe' is to make everything extremely boring and expensive -- more expensive than drugs or alcohol. And these days it's all-too common for kids (14+) in the area to throw parties with exorbitantly high levels of alcohol, to smoke a LOT of marijuana to pass the time, or to go to raves and take extacy. I'm no prude, but I've seen things get extremely out-of-hand.
Also, without a car, you can't get anywhere, and the gas prices here recently hit &4.77 for regular. Some people here are multi-millionaires who care very little about the $65-80-dollar ding on a weekly basis, but not everyone. Kids here with little-to-no money suffer the most. The transit system is virtually nonexistent.
There is no public

Great Neighborhood Commentary - 9/17/2007
Laguna Niguel is a beautiful city, located about 10 min from oceanfronts. The city is clean (although it used to be immaculate, as population grows, newcomers seem less caring about their environment) and there is plenty of everything you need to avoid a big commute into the greater ORange County or Los Angeles areas. People are nicer than in the big cities... One thing I am most proud of is that there are no billboards down

Laguna Niguel is hard to beat.. as long as you mak - 5/6/2007
Laguna Niguel is a lovely town/City. At 64,000 people in 16 square miles, and only 3 miles from the beach, it has a lot to offer. It has rolling hills, and phenomenal climate - ocean cooled, but warm. People are generally nice, if preoccupied with their own busy lives. But once you settle in, and if you have kids ,you will make friends quickly. AYSO Soccer is huge , as is Baseball and Little League. A wealthy community, it is not for the poor.. homes are expensive, and you are surrounded by gleaming new cars.. We have lived here 11 years, hail from the UK originally, and did 5 years in Silicon Valley . This place is wonderful for raising kids, as long as you inculcate good values before they see all their school friends dropped off in Mercedes every

beautiful, expensive and crowded - 8/28/2006
Laguna Niguel has beautiful rolling hills, a mild climate, lots of great restaurant and has wonderful beaches within 10 minutes. It also is very expensive, the people can be rude and homes are close together; lots of traffic and lots of people.
Definitely a pretty nice place to live if you enjoy the Southern California
