What BestPlaces Users Say about Montecito

Montecito, California is a small, affluent community located in Santa Barbara County. With a population of just over 9,000 residents, Montecito is known for its beautiful beaches, scenic views, and luxury real estate. However, living in this exclusive area comes at a high cost. The median home price in Montecito is over $3 million, making it one of the most expensive places to live in California. Despite the high cost of living, many people choose to call Montecito home. Let's take a look at what some of these residents have to say about living in this particular place.

1. "I have lived in Montecito for over 10 years now and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The community here is tight-knit and supportive, and the natural beauty of the area is unparalleled. However, the cost of living can be a bit overwhelming, especially for young families like mine." - Maria S.

2. "Montecito is a dream come true for those who have the means to live here. The weather is perfect year-round, the beaches are beautiful, and the town has a charming small-town feel. But be prepared to pay top dollar for everything, from groceries to housing. It's definitely not a place for those on a budget." - John D.

3. "I moved to Montecito a few years ago and it's been such a wonderful change of pace from the city I used to live in. The community is very welcoming and there's always something fun happening, whether it's a farmers market or a local festival. The only downside is the traffic can get pretty bad during tourist season, but it's a small price to pay for living in paradise." - Sarah C.

4. "I've lived in Montecito my whole life and I wouldn't have it any other way. The schools here are top-notch, the beaches are stunning, and the weather is unbeatable. Sure, it's expensive to live here, but the quality of life is worth every penny." - Max T.

Despite the high cost of living, it's clear that the residents of Montecito appreciate the community, natural beauty, and overall quality of life this place has to offer. While it may not be affordable for everyone, those who do make the choice to live here seem to have no regrets.

Do not live in Montecito - 3/7/2021
I lived in Montecito for 7 years up-to 2020. Everything is sooo over priced, Contractors rip you off, one contractor tried to charge me $800 just to clean the Windows on our 4 bed home for 3 hours work, and another over $40k for 4 sets of window blinds ( that I bought online for $800 and fitted myself in 3 hours) shops rip you off, restaurants rip your off. I was glad to move in the end as it was so annoying being over charged for everything, plus high risk of earthquakes, fires and even mud slides. Added to this most people as they have money are pompous and very unfriendly, with no neighbor hood friendliness and or spirit
If you do not wear the right clothes, drive the right car or look a certain way people look down in you
