Mixed Bag - Super safe and great outdoors space - - 1/10/2017
First the Pro's. This is a very, very beautiful little town. Smiling, friendly people, extremely safe and a great place to raise children. Great weather even nestled amongst a region that typically has great weather year around. Moorpark tends to have cooler summers so get's to as perfect as you can imagine. Most days are sunny and clear between 70 - 80 degrees. These are the reasons my wife and I choose this city along with the fact it was squarely in the midpoint between our jobs we both commuted to at the time. Clean air, lots of outdoor space, relatively close to many of the great aspects of living in SoCal, 25 minutes to the beach, 45-60 to LA, 30 minutes to Malibu, 1 - 1:15 to to Santa Barbara. Great schools. So what's the downside? If you grew up on in a city full of diverse people, cultures, food, architecture or any sort of public transportation and neighborhood community you will be disappointed. the temps. very nice in Moorpark. The farther east (towards Los Angeles) the warmer/ hotter, it gets. Sept. thru October the the Hot/ dry east winds can blow hard (Santana's is what they are called). North & west of Moorpark you will see citrus,avacado & strawberries. Metro train service west to Ventura &east to Los Angeles stops here too. The 23 freeway ties the 118 fwy to Simi Valley heading east from here & also ties into the 101 fwy to the south into Thousand Oaks.
