Oakdale, a semi-rural farming community - 1/15/2014
I have lived here for about 10 years. Except for rush hour traffic on F Street the area is relatively quiet. We are the "Gateway to Yosemite" in that both California State highway 120 and 108 pass through Oakdale... both of which go to Yosemite National Park. This is the reason for the totally ridiculous traffic jams, especially on Friday afternoons and Sundays where F Street becomes one big traffic jam in a city of only 21,000 people. October through May are great months. It doesn't snow here, but the temp might drop to high 30's at night during the winter.
