The weather here is amazing. We get a few hot days in the summer but it cools down in the evening. I love being able to sleep with the windows

Rancho Santa Margarita
Best little city in the O.C.
- 7/23/2015
This is the best place to live in South Orange County with mild temperatures, low crime, great schools and family orientated. RSM is a city that sits in a pocket backing up to Canyons, County Parks and Government land that offer tons of trails and things to do. You want more?, travel just 30 minutes and you're at the beach, 45 and be in Los Angeles the film capital, 1 hour visit the desert and/or the mountains. Anything you want or need is at your fingertips.

Lovely area for families
- 12/5/2014
I've raised my son here, and have couldn't asked for a better place to do so. Weather is great year-round (although it can get brutally hot and dry sometimes), the crime rate is pretty non-existent and you can't beat the view of the mountains. Cost of living is not cheap; housing, food, utilities, and gas prices are all pretty expensive.
Now that my son has grown and moved out/on - its time for me to do the same. This is definitely not the place for single people!! Its also lacking in entertainment options. If you want culture, you'll need to drive elsewhere. If you'd like a number of diverse options in food, you'll need to drive elsewhere. And when it comes to driving - plan accordingly. Everyone else is driving along with you, so things can get pretty jammed up, pretty quickly.
Great place for young families or couples with empty nest. Singles, not so much!

Great place to live!
- 11/26/2014
Rancho Santa Margarita (or RSM, as we affectionately refer to it)is a wonderful place to live. We've been here going on 14 years. It's a safe, friendly city. It's becoming more diverse and we like that about it. Traffic is not too bad; the weather's perfect. Friendly people; family-friendly, but also very welcoming of those of us whose kids are have moved on. Highly

Great place to raise a family in So Cal
- 1/9/2014
We were blessed to have raised our family here for over 20 years and the quality of life is superb. We have several community pools, a lagoon & lake, tons of parks, bike trails, shopping, restaurants, churches and a very low crime rate....you name it, RSM has

Rancho Santa Margarita - Our Paradise
- 12/10/2012
Rancho Santa Margaret is one of those charming bedroom cities you might see in a movie and wonder where on earth could something so remarkable actually exist. I've been living here just over 16 years and yet each time my wife and I drive through the city, we still cannot get over the beauty and how fortunate we are. Even our teenagers appreciate RSM and never want to leave. For our family, it's paradise.

A great place for kids

We live in beautiful Southern California. Aside from great weather, most of the time, our city is a very safe environment to raise kids! The crime rate is low. The neighbors keep an eye on each other. It's

Living in Rancho Santa Margarita
- 6/9/2009
Rancho Santa Margarita is perhaps the best place in south Orange County to be.I wouldn't raise my family anywhere else. I have lived in two other south Orange county cities, and returned to Rancho both times, and now I am here to stay. I have been all over, and I feel that it is one of the best places to live in the state. It is so beautiful out here, gorgeous weather and mountain views. It is very clean and well kept. The schools are top-notch. It is one of the safest cities in the United States for its size. There are many things for the kids to do. Beach club, pools, movies in the park. (And they are all FREE) The thing I like best about Rancho is its "hometown" feel. People are friendly, and eager to know thier neighbors. In most neiborhoods you will see block parties going on in the summer, and kids selling lemonade from their lemonade stands. It's just a little slice of heaven. You don't see communities like this

Rancho Santa Margarita
- 10/13/2007
Rancho Santa Margarita is a wonderful mid-size town to raise a family in Southern California. Local schools are outstanding and its central location provides access to all the benefits that Orange County has to offer.
Many new quality restaurants have come into the area and Rancho is close to world-class shopping. Traffic is certainly tolerable with many routes in and out of the town.
The biggest drawback, which applies to all of Southern California, is the lack of rain and seasons. If you enjoy cloudy days, this is not the place for you. Otherwise, Rancho Santa Margarita offers an attractive setting and great living
