Additionally, the city offers a variety of cultural events throughout the year such as music festivals and food fairs. People have been very pleased with their experiences in Westmont due to its safety, affordability, small-town charm, and convenience to downtown LA. Residents enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as well as the short commute to work. There are also great schools nearby that offer quality education to children of all ages. Overall, Westmont is a great place to live that offers something for everyone!

Family- and Community-Oriented - 4/10/2017
Western ave has gone down over the years but the surrounding communities remain family and community oriented.
Homes are well-maintained and a greater percentage of the children are completing a college education. There is however a strong need for more recreational facilities that were eliminated in previous decades.
Much is needed to clean up Western ave and restore business and commercial presence. However again the sense of community remains strong and it is becoming more widely recognized that it is NOT "the hood" it IS "our community
