California is no longer the state of sunshine and - 8/28/2019
I was born here and lived here on and off. Yuba City and Marysville, the town across from it have become rampid with theft (all kinds from your car potted plants from your porch), random car damage (someone seems to really hate expensive cars in Marysville), horrible drivers (major accidents every day), horrible traffic, and drugs and homeless galore. It's not even affordable to live in anymore because landlords are jacking up rent prices to cater to those who moved in from Sacramento or lost their houses in all the recent fires. The whole state is falling to pieces and constant tax increase make it hard for anyone but the rich to live here. What happens here is happening all over California so either get out while you can or stay far Read More

Near but Removed from The SF Bay Area - 10/20/2018
Admittedly, if you're looking for hipster cafes, hoppin' dance clubs, and fancy shopping, you're going to be very disappointed. Though, if you're looking for an older more wholesome, town with an easy commute to more urban amenities, you'll be quite pleased.
You can hike, hunting, fish ski, or boat the same day. We are surrounded by mountains, natural hot springs, wildlife refuges, forrests and rivers. We attend rodoes, fairs, festivals, parades, movies, and crab feeds. We bbq year round, park in front of our stores, and enjoy nearly 300 days of sunshine.  Read More

I shop mostly in Yuba City, Ca - 8/31/2017
Yuba City has the best shopping near Smartsville where I live. It has most of the big box stores and quite a nice selection of smaller and privately owned stores. I like the variety of restaurants, grocery stores and livestock feed stores too.
Sacramento is less than an hour away if you need a big enough airport. But by not being in Sacramento the crime rate is better. There is enough work in the Yuba City area that the homeless folks aren’t as prevalent as in California’s larger cities.
The Feather River and the Yuba River confluence is at the edge of town so there are water sport opportunities and fishing too.
I think the hot summers are among things that some folks could complain about.
But I enjoy coming here to shop ;o)

Yuba City is a great place to live and affordable - 1/11/2014
I recently moved here to escape the VERY HIGH COST of living in the bay area (CONTRA COSTA Co. to be exact) I like it here because it is AFFORDABLE to all. It might be a little difficult for people who don't have a car but thats miner if you don't have need to go back to the bay area, internet access is all you need and your all good Starbucks, Walmart , Bed Bath Beyound and many many other stores are here for my shopping needs.

Living here less then a year.

Yuba City - 4/24/2007
I recently moved to the area, actually Linda (under 10min to Yuba). There's plenty to do, if you like the outdoors. Lakes, rivers, camping and hiking trails are well within range of this area. There are usually lots of events, which are published on signs as you pass through Marysville. I love the area, not to crowded, light traffic, a nice change from Read More
