Demise of Historic Town of Silver Plume - 8/2/2010
There is currently being considered by the BOD of the above Town to allow an installtion of a Garbage/Trash transfer station of 100 Tons a day 7 days a week into a large commercial site at the west of town. Timberline Trash Disposal will be moving this amount from Summit County collection THRU Bakersville Exit East dropping trash and then picking up another 100 tons and moving it out to an eastern dumping site THRU Silver Plume exit...=200 tons 6-7 days a week...30 diesal large truck traveling Water Street (aka Highway 6). The people of Silver Plume in general understand the EPA issues have not been investigated by that agency. They have told the town people they have no vote since it is a municipallity. One person by the name of SHORTY will profit finally w/o any regard to the consequences to the town people. He has already install a pine beetle damaged tree dump for pellets operations.
