Best climate in western Colorado - 8/24/2011
A variety of factors combine to give Cedaredge arguably the best climate in western Colorado. To the north and west, the Grand Mesa provides protection from the worst of winter while allowing the sun to warm the town from the south and east. During the summer, the 6200 foot altitude ensures that temperatures rarely exceed 90 degrees. Daytime summer temperatures are generally about 10 degrees lower than surrounding communities including Delta and Grand Read More

We have it all! - 8/19/2010
Love living in Cedaredge Colorado. Since moving here in 2007 - have taken up bycycling, golfing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking lots more. My husband skiis twice a week in the winter at Powderhorn (Telluride is 2 hours away and Crested Butte 2+). There is a whole section on the Mesa dedicated to the snowmobilers and very good lake fishing in the summer. Sometimes in the Spring...we snowshoe and then come down and hit golf balls at the Deer Creek Village Golf Course.

The Grand Mesa sits above us at 10,800 feet. It is a wonderful playground both summer and winter - it is about 25 minutes to get to. A beautiful pristine area that isn't crowded like many of Colorado's National Forests.

We are also around 50 minutes to the main entrance of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, a spectacular National Park with many hiking trails.

Escalante/Dominguez Wilderness area is west of us and marks the beginning of the Canyonlands...(Moab is on the Read More

Great Retirement Area - 8/8/2010
After looking at the Sperling Website and doing research...moved to Cedaredge 3 years ago and have no regrets. The climate is four seasons but not the extreme below zero temperatures that the mountains have or the snow. The air is rated very good, we are at the source of some of the best tasting and clean water. The recreation is great...Up on the Grand Mesa, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and a huge cross-country skiing area. Summers you have golfing, hiking, biking and fishing. You sit where the mountains end and the canyonlands begin-many great areas are two hours or less away (Moab, Telluride, Glenwood Springs, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Ouray, Gateway, Ridgway-plus you have the National Monument, Escalante Canyon Wilderness and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison close by with the Grand Mesa as your back yard). Seven types of apples, cherries, peaches, plums and pears are grown in this area, produce flourishes and quite a few wineries. No crime to speak of. Cost of Living is reasonable. Read More
