I lived in Craig for 2 years, and they were the most miserable years of my life. The people are backwards and stuck in the 1970's. They voted down a rec-center; when I was discussing the fact that we needed one, this old women chimed in and said, 'my kids grew up here without one, and they're ok!" Yeah, about that - meth (and other hard drugs) weren't as big of a problem as they are now and you could ride your bike from Craig to Hayden with only passing a few cars. The 70's were nearly 50 years ago - times change. Suicide is high, drugs are high, crime is actually higher per-capita than where I grew up on the front-range (nice try, people who say it's safe). They see no faults in their town, but are the first to complain that they can't sell their homes and can't find jobs (and of course blame the federal gov't when they have problems of their own that can be fixed, but they're too stubborn). You have to work to create jobs, you can't rely on ONE industry. These people need education

Terrible place - 11/3/2015
I would ice pick myself in the throat if I had to live in this piece of garbage town. Everyone there is a meth head I bet they even wear their socks to bed. You would have to be outside your mind to move to Craig America. Other than that its a friendly environment and a great place to raise a family.

ABSOLUTLY the worse place on earth !! - 8/9/2009
craig is a small town that gets 50 below in the winter with 5 feet of snow on the flat, and 40 feet drifted. there is no real post office and jobs all pay about minimum wage or less. the people are rude, and the schools are terrible (the high school has a 4% graduation rate, and a 99% pregnancy rate)
please don't move here as those of us who love it here, er - no i mean hate it here, wouldn't want you to be misreable by making the town any bigger.
can you imagine a town with no rush hour, only a rush minute, how boring is that ? and hardly any crime, no excitement at all. no, you need to look at denver instead, now theres a

Good Place to Raise a Family - 4/1/2009
If you are looking for a little town where you can feel safe raising a family, Craig is it. With about 11000 people, Craig is a place where you can go to the store and run into friends and chat. You feel like you know everyone. There is a mall, Walmart, Kmart, Murdochs, and numerous fast food and local restaurants. There is also a twin cinema and a pool facility that has both a lap and wave pool and plenty of recreation. The city has great schools, great people and great

Craig Colorado Tidbits - 6/26/2008
Craig is the county seat of Moffat County, located in Northwestern Colorado. The population is about 10,000 or so. There area is predominantly a ranching and mining area. Steamboat Springs is located 47 miles east, and many of the working class folks have moved out of there due to high costs and to Craig.
The winters are cold and snowy, summers warm, spring is brief. Gardening is tough due to late frosts and cool nights.
There is a power plant and coal mines in the area. Hunting is a big draw in the fall. There is some oil and gas exploration in the area but that is limited due to political and environmental obstacles.
There are several motels in the area that are fairly old and poorly maintained. There are 3 "chain" motels in town.
In the winter ground transportation can be very limited. There is an airport in Hayden, east of town that has limited commercial flights.
Rentals of houses and apartments are very
