First of all, we are sick and tired of the report that there are 1,500 people in Crested Butte. Maybe in the "town limits" which is a small area. There is CB South, Skyland (the golf course), Buckhorn Ranch, Meridian lake, Mt, Crested Butte, etc. surrounding neighborhoods. There are 3,0000 post office boxes. Everyone who lives north of round Mountain and south of Gothic has an address of "Crested Butte". There are 6,000 full time year round residents that live here and it is growing rapidly. In the summer it has as many people here driving their cars all over the place all crazy as the number of people at a Telluride weekend festival... but this is every day, all day for at least 6 weeks straight.
It sucks. Don't even bother coming in the summer unless you make a reservation for every meal or you wait for an hour and a half and good luck trying to find a place to park. Read More
