Seven years and loving it! - 2/19/2012
Louisville, CO has been a tremendous place for our family (2 kids, 9 and 12) to live. Small town living/values with nearly no crime, good locally owned restaurants/stores and a well-educated, sophisticated populace in close proximity to Boulder and Denver. Schools are excellent, people are friendly/polite and local government is well run and efficient. Fantastic recreational opportunities abound both outdoors and through the public recreation facilities. Louisville and next-door Lafayette are exactly what I've sought for our family's lifestyle. not affordable, in my opinion - 5/17/2007
I've lived in Louisville, Colo. for 11 years [and in the Front Range area, off & on, for more than 33 yrs.]. In my opinion, Louisville is scarcely affordable for individuals [or families] of moderate incomes [e.g., less than $45,000 per year].
Housing prices in Boulder County [we're only 8 miles from Boulder] are so high that a single person can't afford to buy even a condominium, unless you move here with a sizable nest-egg.
